    Don't swipe right 🔎 ➡️ 💰

Most of us have used the dating app Tinder at one point or another. The app makes it easier than ever to meet new people. Some are looking for love and others just want to hook up. It is ultimately up to you what you get out of Tinder. The process is simple. Create a profile and start swiping right for yes and left for no. You can browse locally or change your location to anywhere in the world and meet people in new places. The possibilities are endless.

The Tinder Swindler is one of Netflix's latest documentaries and this one is all about the Tinder lifestyle. One man went to great lengths to become one of the biggest frauds in the history of Tinder. The illusion that this man created was of course for money and power.

    Daltono Seperator.png

This true story begins with a woman named Cecilie Fjellhøy explaining how she met a man she knew as Simon Leviev on Tinder. She had been searching for love on the dating app and eventually was matched with Simon. They quickly began to chat and before you know it, Simon invited her to meet up.

    image.png

Simon's profile was as impressive as it gets in terms of Tinder godliness. He was well-traveled, had many friends, and looked to be extremely wealthy. He claimed that he was "The Prince of Diamonds" and was heavily involved in the trade of high-value gems. He was never in one place for very long, but he was willing to make time for Cecile since they had many great conversations and a seemingly strong connection.

    image.png

Simon was indeed real and actually living the life that his profile showcased. Spending $20,000/day was normal for him and he was more than happy to share his idyllic life with Cecilie. She became infatuated with him in no time. The documentary says it was strictly emotional, but it's pretty obvious that she was interested in living the millionaire lifestyle as well. She was both in love and in the middle of a gold mine. Both were great reasons for her guard to be down.

    image.png

Cecilie and Simon were forced to spend most of their time apart, but Simon always made sure to stay in contact via messaging. Simon was traveling across Europe constantly for business meetings. Cecilie became more and more interested in this mysterious man, although they had only been able to spend time together a few times. Eventually, he told her to pick out an apartment so that they could start living together. The monthly limit was $15,000. Sounds pretty great right?

    image.png

After a few months of promising Cecilie things like getting married and starting a family, Simon finally shows his true intentions. He tells Cecilie that he is in danger and that rivals in the diamond industry are after him. He must close all of his financial accounts and lay low while his security team attempts to keep him protected. He asks Cecilie to do him a major favor and open up a new credit card in her name so that he can still spend money. His promise is to pay her back for everything once his security issues are sorted out. Cecilie is in love and clearly, Simon has plenty of money to pay her back. All she wants is for her new man to be safe and for them to finally be together once again. This leads Cecilie to foolishly begin to take out loan after loan to help her man. She racks up a few hundred thousand dollars worth of debt and continues to believe that she will get it all back eventually.

    image.png

While this situation between Simon and Cecilie is playing out, Simon is still living his life as usual. Cecilie knows that Simon is still spending large amounts of money, but she doesn't question him since she loves him. She even notices that he is back on Tinder since his profile is updated and remains active. He denies using the app, although there is obvious proof that she ignores it. During this time, Simon meets a new woman named Pernilla Sjöholm.

    image.png

Pernilla and Simon end up meeting and forming a bond right away. They do not have an emotional connection but become very close friends. Simon brings other women around Pernilla whom he does start to date. They travel Europe together all summer long and make many great memories together. Simon pays for pretty much everything and allows Pernilla to enjoy the luxuries of his lavish lifestyle.

    Screen Shot 2022-02-08 at 11.07.03 AM.png

The exact same story about being in danger with diamond rivals is eventually fed to Pernilla. There are photos and videos to prove that his bodyguard was attacked and in an ambulance, the same evidence that was sent to Cecilie. Pernilla trusts Simon since he just spent several months traveling with her and thousands of dollars on her. Once again Simon asks Pernilla to assist him and temporarily open up new lines of credit so that he can live his life until security measures are figured out. Hundreds of thousands of dollars more were given to Simon in hopes of eventually being paid back in full. Pernilla eventually gets fed up with Simon and starts to think that something is up and ends up getting in contact with media people to get the word out.

    image.png

Simon has another girlfriend that he has been dating for over a year named Ayleen Charlotte. She gets wind of Pernilla's experience and realizes that she too is caught up in the same mess. Ayleen had also loaned Simon a great deal of money and has yet to see any of it come back to her. Keep in mind that all of these women met Simon on Tinder.

    image.png

The three women decide to team up with some journalists to uncover the truth about Simon Leviev if that even was his real name. After investigation, it is discovered that Simon's true identity was Shimon Yehuda Hayut, a man wanted in Israel for crimes he committed and then fled the country.

    image.png

Simon is caught up in a big mess. He is forced to go into hiding and attempts to create a new identity with the name David Sharon. He had previously had his name legally changed from Shimon Yehuda Hayut when left Israel. His new moniker would be Simon Leviev so that he could pretend to be related to Lev Avnerovich Leviev, an Israeli businessman known as "The King of Diamonds". Making Simon The Prince of Diamonds".

    image.png

Pernilla was still pretending to be Simon's friend and the journalists create a plan to capture photos of Simon while Pernilla is out on a dinner date with him. He spots the hidden photographers but doesn't realize that Pernilla is involved with any of them. He runs away again and goes dark for a period of time.

    image.png

Ayleen was aware of his next name David Sharon. She continued to play along with his lies and pretends that she still loves him in hopes of getting back at him in some way. He didn't have many options left for more money, so Ayleen becomes his main target. She says she doesn't have any money left and offers to sell some of his high-value fashion items since she works in the fashion industry. Her plan was to get a portion of the money that she loaned him back, but he thinks that she is going to give her profit to him.

    image.png

This is when things really start to get bad for Simon. He is broke and starts jumping from hostel to hostel, being forced to stay at the cheapest places around. He no longer is able to keep up his high fashion image and begins to take on a rough look. At one point he even makes claims to one Ayleen that he has been eating leftover food out of the garbage.

    image.png

Ayleen shows no sympathy and waits for the opportunity to alert the police of Simon's whereabouts. He finally makes plans to travel under his new name David Sharon, for which he has a fake passport. Ayleen ends up being the one to finally make Simon pay for what he has done to these poor women.

    https://64.media.tumblr.com/9d918240bb4706b6bdd4f51bf46c5956/c74ab387ce701e24-88/s400x600/afc122c35ce995d3bdb1cf795cc7fdfbe79df650.gifv

Simon is caught by the authorities and arrested for using a fake passport. He is sentenced to 15 months in prison but ends up only serving 5 months in total. He was never in trouble for the fraud he committed towards countless women. It is hard to say the total number of women that he swindled, but I am sure they will start appearing out of the woodworks since this Netflix documentary is blowing up.

    image.png

After Simon's release from prison, he somehow manages to get right back into his luxurious way of living. He most likely jumped back into the same scheme with new women who were unaware of his past. Like I mentioned before, Tinder is an endless supply of people worldwide. Simon also began to offer business advice for a fee on a new website. I'm sure that he didn't expect this documentary to come out and ruin his plans. He lives free today, but I have a feeling it is now much more difficult for him to take advantage of women on Tinder.

    image.png

Cecilie Fjellhøy, Pernilla Sjöholm, and Ayleen Charlotte are all still dealing with their massive debts that were created thanks to their connections with Simon Leviev. Even with their Netflix release, Simon has managed to escape a fair punishment for his doings. I absolutely think what Simon did was terrible. I do however think that the women who fell prey to his schemes were golddiggers and should have been more careful about how much they trusted this seemingly wealthy man. The digital realm of dating can be great and even end with true love. There is also the chance that the total opposite could happen and your life savings could evaporate in the hands of somebody as evil as Simon.

    image.png

I was persuaded to watch The Tinder Swindler by my girlfriend, but she of course fell asleep during it and I ended up watching it by myself. I was initially not very interested in seeing it, but once the mystery of Simon began I wanted to know how it all ended. I think this documentary is totally worth seeing, especially if you have spent any time at all on Tinder during your life. Here is the trailer so that you can get a better idea of what to expect from this one.

    Strength of the Victims

What these women are doing is something to be applauded, making their stories known to the whole world, having the unavoidable pointing out of other people who may classify them as fortune hunters or deluded, however, they stand at the foot of the cannon to denounce justice and to prevent other women from falling into this game. It is incredible courage that these women are doing.

I Applaud When Injustice is Attacked

It pleases me to see how justice is imposed, maybe not in the total way but that this scammer sees his series on Netflix is something that causes me pleasure, knowing that his web of lies has been discovered and that many people will recognize him just by watching it.

    Good Documentary

This is a very good quality production, in particular I think that something very good does Netflix with its great advertising machine, making known this scammer and that somehow warns users that there may be some danger in social networks, this time it is a scammer, however, it has been known even murderers who seek their victims from social networks. It is a kind of alert for users to be a little more cautious when meeting people.

    Do I recommend it?

Yes, the documentary is very entertaining, it captures the attention from beginning to end, the narration of the facts is very good and the breakdown of the whole history of the victims. It is not a waste of time, this documentary is worthy of being in the top of popularity at this time.

Hello dear Hive community, this time I come to talk to you about something new for me and that is watching documentaries, I have always found them a bit bland and boring but I discovered one called "The Tinder Scammer" which is trending on Netflix and I think it's worth watching.

If I'm honest I started watching it believing it was a movie hahahahahah clearly I realized after a few minutes that it was a documentary, I was very struck by the title and by saying that he is a scammer. I had always seen cases of people who cheated saying they were a person but they usurp the identity of another, but one of swindling people in such a barbaric way never.the case is about a guy named "Simon Leviev" someone who used Tinder to scam women who used the app to get love, posing as a millionaire and fall in love and then ask them to borrow high sums of money, the documentary wants to show the experiences in the best possible way as well as explain all the versionaes of the story.

As I said before, I don't like documentaries, but this one seemed to me something different as it was presented to us, or I don't know if it is the subject to be treated, because I really felt that they were telling me the gossip. The victims were very sincere and detailed with their versions of the story that accompanied with evidence, videos, images and ambience made us imagine what happened at each moment of the story. I don't know much about documentaries but I think this one is well executed and shows us absolutely everything related to the scam. Regarding the topic, I have never looked favorably on dating apps per se. I consider it can be dangerous and this documentary proves me right. But I am not the one to judge that each one looks for love in the best way possible although I consider that they could see the signs from the beginning but as they say at one point in the documentary "It was an emotional scam".

    IMG_20220207_083016.jpg

Honestly, besides being able to be entertained with the misfortune of others, because being indebted with almost a quarter of a million dollars and the other girls are not left behind for me is considered as misfortune, we can see or analyze how emotions can play against us, in addition to fear and attachment. He pretended to be a multimillionaire and gave affection and details to each one of them, asking them for the famous businessmen.

    IMG_20220207_083016.jpg

In my opinion the guy besides being a person without scruples not to say a rude thing was someone very intelligent and you will realize why, since he always has the same patterns of behavior and alibi for his scams. I think it is a good documentary because of how they explain the facts and it is good to see to realize that people can be really dangerous, I think they should have a real punishment because despite everything and the fact that they tried to charge them for what he did to each one of them, I feel that the punishment was too little.

I hope you like it and if someday you get to use this application, keep in mind that people sometimes are not what they seem. I take Tinder as something fun in the movies and to laugh at, but it really can be dangerous for those who use it and this documentary is proof of that, thanks for reading the post.

  5. The Tinder Swindler Documentary: The Homeless King@wolfofnostreet1603d

People hope to find love on the dating app, Tinder, and there are some who hope to find their next big fish. Shimon Hayut aka Simon Leviev is exposed in this Netflix true-crime documentary for the 'Tinder Swindler' that he is. Luring women out of their money with romantic gestures and bogus claims, and living a fake life for the gram.

    image.png source

    Who Is Simon Leviev?

Simon Leviev is one of the many aliases of Shimon Hayut, an Israeli pretty boy. He took a rather romantic route to operate his con ways although he has other means. In this documentary, three of his victims share how they met Simon on Tinder and he takes them on lavish dates to 5-star restaurants on the very first date.

They all have the same story, he presents himself as an influential son of a billionaire diamond entrepreneur, they get involved and months later, he comes up with an elaborate story of how 'his enemies' are after him. He then needs the women to help him out with some money because for some reason, he can't access his own money.

The women are already smitten by him so it's not hard to for them to do all they can to assist him. He never pays back ofcourse and it eventually dawns on each of them that they had been scammed. We're talking thousands of dollars here.

    Drama Queen

This documentary wasn't really exciting enough for me as a true-crime lover, but I did get excited when one of the victims, Ayleen, came into the picture. Ayleen was 14 months into a relationship with Simon when she discovered from an article that he is a con artist.

She had given him some money before then but when she found out, she played his game. She told him she could get a lot of money from his sales of his designer wardrobe and send him all of the money. She laundered his expensive clothes and sold them off on resell sites but never sent him the money ofcourse.

The grin on her face was the most exciting thing ever. She didn't recover all he stole but she was proud she got payback. He called, threatened, wailed, and begged her to send him the money from the sales but she didn't budge.

He talked about having nowhere to live and no money and she mocked him for being a drama king. The mugu said he's not a drama queen but a homeless king.

    Fake Life

It's really interesting how much wealth Simon flaunts on Instagram when in reality he has nothing. He takes women on lavish dates with money he stole from other women, and doesn't have much going for himself.

He was said to be wanted in Israel for fraudulent activities and he even got arrested for a fake passport somewhere but he served only 5 months out of the 15-month sentence. He got out and continued the fake life, even threatened to sue the producers of this documentary when he was contacted.

    Red Flags

I won't lie I was disappointed that the women didn't immediately see the red flags. It was so obvious. Why couldn't he contact his billionaire family and friends for support? They were smitten by the fact that he was a billionaire because why would you travel with someone on the first date? Someone you met on Tinder for that matter.

I understand spontaneity, I wouldn't be with who I am now if I wasn't spontaneous but at least, do yourself the good of thinking things through. There were several loopholes to this guy's story that they ignored right from the first date to the months that followed.

    Free

Simon is a free man today because there's no case against him. He deleted his Instagram after the documentary's release and before that, he said he'll say his own side of the story soon. He now has a website where he offers business advisory services.

    Conclusion

I wasn't wowed by this documentary production-wise. The Cinderella stories in between were annoying and time-wasting. The sequence with the ladies telling their stories was tiring for me also. I was annoyed by how dumb the first woman was, she didn't have to lose that much.

It was off-putting to find out that Simon (or Shimon) went to Israel and wasn't arrested even when the Israeli police claimed he was a wanted man. The system really is shitty.

Hello my people today I bring you a Netflix documentary that left me shocked, by the ability or the level of lies that a person can create to pretend a life that does not have, no matter who is taken along the way, and this made me remember an anecdote of an aunt that later I will tell you, I talk about the controversial documentary "THE TINDER SCAMMER".

Over the years I have heard many things about people who met through the networks or dedicated pages to find partners, many have been nice stories with happy endings, and others not so much. Tinder is a well-known social network that is used to meet people from all over the world.

In recent years I have heard stories from the US about women who have been murdered, after having arranged to meet a person they met on tinder, but in this case we are told the shocking story of a scammer in Europe.

Maybe for some it is already a somewhat cliché topic, but in my case it is the first time I see a complete and real story of a con, because until now I had only seen headlines or movies, but I didn't know the background of everything. The production that they used for this story was incredible by the hand of Felicity Morris, her way of recreating the whole story was great and immersive.

It is a production that is not tedious, with a duration of about 1 hour it tells the whole story in a very fast and simple way but keeps you intrigued and glued to the screen to discover the end. It also has the first hand testimonies of 3 of its victims.

Shimon Hayut who pretended to be the son of a billionaire managed to scam thousands of women around the world through Tinder, showing a life of luxury and elegance, at first you wonder how someone pretends to be a billionaire but is not? this was what I found intriguing and what made me want to find the answer, that as the story progresses at the beginning you do not notice anything strange about the character, the pieces fit when the victims are each telling their story.

This documentary created a lot of controversy because of the prejudices that exist in the world, and how a woman who is attracted to a man for his money is seen, especially the most shocking is the end of the story, which is not to be believed and sometimes makes you think that happy endings only happen in the movies.

    tinder 8.jpg

It is a documentary that I recommend you to see, especially to take it as an example and more because we know that today there are many young women who are excited about wanting to meet men from other parts of the world, and the truth is you don't know that these things happen until they tell you or it happens to you.

    tinder 3.jpg

And I say this because the networks have years since they came out, and I remember when I was about 14 years old I joined one that was very well known called Baddo just with the idea of chatting and meeting new people, that is, who does not use MySpace or Hi5, it was a normal thing at that age, but it never really crossed my mind to go out with someone, plus you always heard stories about girls who were raped and even killed for having gone out with someone known by these networks.

It is shocking how this guy created a false life and how he managed to wrap women to end up swindling them, although anyone can say that they sinned of innocent and trusting, but listening to the story you try to understand them a little, because believe me they were very judged to tell their story and the culprit as if nothing.

    Anécdota

    Anecdote

The anecdote I mentioned was about a maternal aunt who is about 50 years old, she called us to ask us about a shipment sent to her by a lover she had in the USA, but she had to pay 9 thousand bolivars to receive it, and this seemed very strange to us. But the strangest thing was that the man she said she was meeting was the captain of the program that was shown on the E Below Deck channel.

Evidently we told her that this was a scam, because the man was asking her to deposit the money into an account so that she could receive the gift he had sent, but you can believe that my aunt was upset with us because we told her she was being scammed.

    Conclusión

    Conclusion

If you want to know how he involved all his victims and how he managed to swindle them for thousands and thousands of dollars, with an ending that you will not believe.
