The title of this movie made a lot of noise to me once I finished watching it, because it conflicted with what I consider to be a good wife, but perhaps from a man's point of view the character of the wife represents the good wife. It is a movie based on the 1975 novel "The Good Wife" written by American author Lois Chiles and is inspired by a true story supposedly from the life of Joan Castleman, who lived in the shadow of her husband, award winning writer and scholar Joe Castleman, but this is not the real thing.
I gave myself the task of researching before doing this review, as I was curious to know the story of the people who inspired the novel, and to know about the Nobel Prize winner, but the couple mentioned above do not exist, but Yuliya Solntseva and her husband, also a director, do exist, Alexander Petrovich Dovjenko, and I find it more convincing that this couple is the real inspiration for everything, well I started watching the movie because it stars actress Glenn Close and she is one of my favorite actresses, here she assumed a very different role to what she has accustomed to the audience.
It all starts with an elderly couple sleeping and playing between the sheets, anxious to receive a call to confirm if the man is the winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature. In fact it happened and the whole film takes place in the time lapse of preparation to receive the award and the day they receive it, during this time we see how they met, what they lived as a couple and their small achievements between a swing of past and present, in that we can know the personality of the main characters the husband, wife and son who accompanies him to receive the award.

El título de esta película me hizo mucho ruido una vez que terminé de verla, porque entre en conflicto con lo que considero ser una buena esposa, pero tal vez desde el punto de vista de un hombre el personaje de la esposa representa la buena esposa. Se trata de una película basada en la novela “The Good Wife” de 1975, escrita por la autora estadounidense Lois Chiles y que está inspirada en una historia real supuestamente de la vida de Joan Castleman, quien vivió en la sombra de su esposo, el escritor y académico Joe Castleman ganador de un premio, pero esto no es lo real.
Me di la tarea de investigar antes de hacer esta reseña, ya que tenía curiosidad por conocer la historia de las personas que inspiraron la novela, y saber sobre el ganador del premio Nobel, pero la pareja mencionada anteriormente no existen, pero si existe Yuliya Solntseva y su marido, el también director, Alexander Petrovich Dovjenko, y me resulta más convincente que esta pareja sea la inspiración real de todo, bueno comencé a ver la película porque es protagonizada por la actriz Glenn Close y es una de mis actrices favoritas, aquí ella asumé un papel muy diferente a lo que tiene acostumbra a la audiencia.
Todo inicia con un matrimonio de la tercera edad durmiendo y jugando entre las sábanas, ansiosos por recibir una llamada que confirme si el hombre es el ganador del premio Nobel de Literatura. En efecto así ocurrió y toda la película se desarrolla en el lapso de tiempo de preparación para recibir el premio y el día en que lo reciben, durante este tiempo vemos como se conocieron, lo que vivieron como pareja y sus pequeños logros entre un vaivén del pasado y presente, en eso podemos conocer la personalidad de los personajes principales el esposo, la esposa y su hijo quien lo acompaña a recibir el premio.

She also writes and had a great talent, she is submissive, but does not want to be remembered as a victim of her husband.
This marriage met when Joe was a professor at a university and taught literature apprentices to write, he was a writer of short stories, but was not recognized, he was married and had a daughter, while Joan was a good student who fell in love with her professor and accepted to be his nanny, ending up as lovers, and then became his second wife.
Joan wanted to be a famous writer, but in her time women were not considered for awards, or so she thought, so she gave up her idea and preferred to develop her talent helping her husband, at first she was the editor of his books and who put him in contact with publishers, then she was the one who was in charge of writing while her husband cooked and took care of the children.
They had an attached and toxic relationship, when he would get angry he would threaten to leave her and tell her to use her emotions of sadness or frustration to write and she would do it as a form of venting, but they continued together. The ending of the movie was a bit distressing and dramatic, I don't know how much fiction or reality it was, but I felt bad for the good wife for handling her passions the wrong way and wasting her talent and life on someone who didn't deserve it. It concluded that the character of the good wife was not a victim, because she allowed it to happen.
I enjoyed watching this movie because I learned a bit about the atmosphere and preparation for the Novel Awards ceremony, as well as the protocol that must be followed to receive them, how to bow to the King, the award winners and the audience, among other things. I recommend watching the movie because it is short, with a fast pace and good actors.

Joan quería ser escritora famosa, pero en su época las mujeres no eran tomadas en cuenta para premios, o eso creía ella, así que desistió de su idea y prefirió desarrollar su talento ayudando a su esposo, al principio era la editora de libros de él y quien lo ponía en contacto con las editoriales luego fue ella quien se encargaba de escribir mientras su esposo cocinaba y atendía los niños.
Tenían una relación de apego y tóxica, cuando él se enojaba la amenazaba con dejarla y le decía que usara sus emociones de tristeza o frustración para escribir y ella lo hacía como forma de desahogo, pero continuaban juntos. El final de la película fue un poco angustiante y dramático, no sé qué tanta ficción o realidad era, pero me sentí mal por la buena esposa, por manejar sus pasiones de forma errónea y desperdiciar su talento y vida en alguien que no lo merecía. Concluyó que el personaje de la buena esposa no era víctima, porque ella permitió que sucediera.
Me gustó ver esta película porque aprendí un poco sobre el ambiente y preparación para la entrega de los premios Novel, también del protocolo que deben seguir para recibirlos, como hacer las reverencias al Rey, a los premiados y al público, entre otras cosas. Recomiendo ver la película porque es corta, con un ritmo rápido y buenos actores.
