Butterfly Effect.

Today's review will be about an animated film that is self-aware that it is a creation to play with.
To Your Last Death tells the story of Miriam, the only survivor of the massacre of her siblings that was prepared by her own father. Miriam is taken to the hospital as a suspect and ... the game begins.

In the hospital, he meets a mysterious woman who promises her that she can save her siblings if she trusts her. The beginning of the game involves certain shelves.
The animation is comic, just as the first few frames are comic-book icons.
Although the film is brutal, it shows a certain relationship between the creator and the creation, between the screenwriter and the character.
Miriam, knowing what's going to happen, will play a crazy game that will involve. as a rule, they will change every now and then.

As a viewer, we observe a spectacle where the creator plays with his puppets every now and then, throwing in various obstacles, and even making a conflict between siblings.
Two brothers and a sister and Miriam have to face their own father, who dies and decides to play killing his children in an effective way (sounds familiar like from Saw movies?)
The film manipulates events, one event can have several different paths.
The game master plays with Miriam, creating ever fancy and crazy ways to spice up the movie.

The film is on the fine line between madness and action cinema.
More than once, the film suggests to us that the whole story can happen only in the head of the main character, and then throw the viewer into more and more unusual stories.
(Trailer)Although I was initially repelled by the comic book style, in this story it is a great advantage, because as viewers we are also readers who "bought" this comic and want the best ending. The music is quite well played, it resembles the tracks from Drive.
The film was played by Ray Wise known for his role as Twin Peaks or Bill Moseley who is Rob Zombie's favorite and plays in every of his films. I recommend the movie is a mixture of the butterfly effect from Life is strange, sprinkled with a large dose of Saw, music from Drive and a big bow for people who read comics and want super spectacular action. 8/10
