  1. Under Paris | Movie Review@josehany745d

I didn't intend to watch a movie today but I had several activities to do and I turned on the TV and automatically put it on Netflix, I'm not usually one to concentrate on watching or listening to something, so I obviously paid more attention to this movie than what I was doing.

It caught my attention that Under Paris was positioned at #1 in my country, so I took a look.

Starting by talking a little about what it is about, it is related to a marine scientist who in her first attempt wanted to rescue some species, among them was a young female shark which she marked with a tracker and named Lilith on her expedition in the Pacific Ocean, specifically in Hawaii. Unfortunately this does not end well and she puts her entire career and research on hold.

Three years later, this same female shark is seen in France, specifically in the Seine. As its ecosystem is damaged, it was necessary to look for other ways to survive and adapt to other waters. However, this shark is something special, since it seems to be the first to carry out a kind of evolution.

This is when the film really begins to develop, the scientist, seeing that this shark is in the Seine, decides to act quickly to avoid a massacre, since she remembers the past event with her team, however things do not end well and It turns into a bloodbath.

My comments are very brief. It's really not that bad movie, but you have to admit that it's a little slow, the beginning is violent and full of life, emotion and then it's all stillness until 3/4 of the movie, which is when the action returns. I mention this because the genre is action and horror. Although I think they needed to work more on the terrifying part as it seems to me or perhaps because I am used to greater stimulation of both the visual and auditory senses from previous films of the genre, I wanted to say that basically it is like being part of another movie cliché of sharks, although the ending seemed appropriate to me. But something else caught my attention and that is a fact to consider in these aspects of the film, we begin by seeing how part of the Pacific Ocean is flooded in plastic materials and we see how the life of species is lost because of this, also being this fact is a trigger for the species to move from their natural habitat to seek refuge in a cleaner area and add icing to the cake, this fact also caused an evolution/mutation in the species. This is not something to take lightly, I know that we really like to immerse ourselves in science fiction but it does not seem to be far from reality, in the end it will be a war where humans will always lose.

  2. Sous la Seine (Under Paris)@cute-cactus746d

In movies with the theme of being attacked by a shark, the limited storyline can spoil the pleasure of watching because the effect of the monster is only valid in deep water. As soon as you get out of the water, the danger ends by itself.

I can say that Sous la Seine, one of Netflix's new productions, partially overcomes the above limit. Among the productions with the theme of monster in the water, which is one of the sub-genres of horror, I must say that it is extremely successful. I especially liked the shots and effects.

Of course, the aggressive sharks don't put legs on themselves and chase their prey out of the water, but innovations have been added compared to similar productions and these innovations have made the story of the movie more exciting. The species, which lives in the depths of the seas and oceans and has no chance to live outside of salt water, has been given some changes in terms of reproduction and habitat.

Thanks to this mutation, the viewing pleasure is not interrupted. The aggressive shark does not come out of the water, of course, but the expansion of its habitat and its easy reproduction cause it to encounter more people, and action-packed moments become the usual flow of the story.

After the scenes that start with a tragic accident right at the beginning of the movie, the movie already manages to keep you watching. The shooting of the scene I mentioned was really great. It gave me the impression of a commercial for a while, but that might be just me.

The story and story progression of the movie was quite good. I always believed that the presence of irresponsible politicians in productions that deal with public safety is one of the hidden messages of the movie because they are always present in every similar story. Heroes from the people are a must in films with a similar theme, and unlike politicians, they are very consistent about what and who they care about.

The protagonist of Sous la Seine is a scientist and the protagonist of the movie's opening story. Berenice Bejo, who plays the character of Sophia, gives a very successful performance with the tragic event she experienced and her subsequent comeback.

In general terms, Sous la Seine has managed to be one of Netflix's successful productions. The main element of the story was a mutated shark breed invading the river where people live in dense populations. The quote given at the beginning of the movie was like a clue about the mutation, but you can understand this after watching the movie for a while.

I highly recommend watching the movie Sous la Seine. I can say that it was a successful production with great visual shots. The fluidity of the movie and the excitement of the story were at high levels. It has an effect between horror and suspense and has excellent viewing pleasure.
