Hola amigos, buenas vibras para todos.

Hello friends, good vibes to all.

Alan Ritchson is an actor who rose to fame with Reacher, a top Prime Video series where he portrays an "invincible" man trying to take down any organization or individual in the criminal underworld. Now, this same actor takes on another role, but with the same characteristics as Reacher: quiet, proud, with the belief that he can do everything on his own, and above all, yes, invincible, but to the nth degree. Netflix brings us an action-fantasy film that I thought was going to go one way, but which ended up going in a very different direction from the premise of the opening scenes. A soldier with post-traumatic stress after being in Afghanistan and losing important people—what could possibly go wrong?

We have this soldier, whose name isn't mentioned, who decides to train to become a U.S. Ranger, an elite infantry force dedicated to all kinds of operations and deployments worldwide. He has his reasons for joining after serving in the Middle East. The thing is, as expected, this training is extremely complex, revealing this guy's mental vulnerability. He reaches the final week, with a field exercise being the last thing they have to do, but to everyone's surprise, things don't go as planned. Deep in those mountains, something is lurking.

Believing it was part of their final training, they realize there's a kind of demolition machine that, upon detecting their presence, begins to annihilate them one by one. It's at that moment they understand something is wrong. This machine possesses advanced tracking and attack intelligence, making it impossible for ordinary men to defeat it. The film's plot revolves around these soldiers trying to escape this thing that fell from the sky, about which nothing is known. Indeed, the only thing known is that they began falling in various parts of the world and automatically started attacking. The film doesn't provide any further information; I don't know if this is because there's an idea for a sequel or if that was never the intention.

As far as action goes, it delivers. I think everything that happens around the attacks from this machine, the anxiety of escaping, hiding, and of course, trying to get everyone to their destination alive, is what makes it visually entertaining. We can't expect realism when it's alien technology driving the events of the film. Obviously, there are some very exaggerated elements, but that's what makes it fiction. To give you an idea, the film reminded me a bit of Predator at times; it has that atmosphere of hunter and hunted, and the obvious disadvantage of being at a significant disadvantage against whatever that machine is. Personally, I wasn't bored; it has its tense moments in the plot, but it didn't surprise me either. I think it's a very forgettable film, just another one of the bunch.

There are some really silly things, like how they defeat those machines. Something so lethal can't be overcome in the way they do it. The cast is decent; Dennis Quaid, Jai Courtney, and Esai Morales are some of the actors—good names for a not-so-cool movie. I give it a 6/10 because at least it's entertaining; it's the kind of movie you watch on a Sunday. Some things don't make much sense, but it's watchable. You can find it on Netflix. I've included the trailer below.

    War Machine (2026)

“War Machine” is the kind of movie that doesn’t try to reinvent the wheel, but it knows exactly what it wants to be: a military thriller with sci-fi accents, shot from the perspective of soldiers who find themselves in a situation completely out of control. There are no long introductions, no military philosophy, no patriotic speeches. The movie throws you straight into the chaos and leaves you there, without giving you time to breathe.

Alan Ritchson… well, this man is made for roles like this. He’s not Shakespeare, but he doesn’t have to be. He has that “don’t let me die here” look, he has the energy of a guy who has seen enough and still doesn’t back down. You believe him. You feel him. And even if he sometimes seems too “super-soldier,” it doesn’t bother him, because the movie needs someone to keep the team alive.

What surprised me the most is the enemy. It's not something with tentacles, it's not a CGI monster made to look cool. It's a huge, cold, industrial machine, as if it escaped from an alien factory. And it's precisely this simplicity that makes it scary. It doesn't talk, it doesn't negotiate, it doesn't stop. It's the kind of adversary that makes you feel small, helpless, and that raises the tension to the maximum.

Now, honestly: the film is not perfect. The supporting characters are a bit flat, the dialogues sometimes sound like lines from a military manual, and if you've seen Battle: Los Angeles, you'll have the feeling that you've been through this before. But you know what? It didn't bother me. Because the film delivers exactly what it promises: action, tension, atmosphere and a constant feeling that anyone can die at any time.

Overall, "War Machine" is a film that doesn't lie to you. It doesn't promise depth, it doesn't promise absolute originality. But what it promises—intense action, constant tension, realistic military atmosphere, and a memorable enemy—it delivers very well. It's the kind of movie you watch on an evening when you want to feel the adrenaline rush, not sit around analyzing symbols and metaphors.

    **𝙴𝚗𝚕𝚐𝚒𝚜𝚑**

    ![sep.2026.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/pannavi/23tbPXTf1bvy4jaGNjptgQFy5gWYhWKJKS8g2jUuibSPhe56BuNS1C7amKtxLNKAEqeKn.png)

If you've read my previous posts about movies or series, you'll know that I'm a big fan of horror films; however, sometimes I feel like watching something different, fresh and interesting, and thanks to a recommendation from my parents, I decided to give this new movie a chance.

    1.jpg

Starring this generation's Arnold Schwarzenegger, that is, Alan Ritchson, who rose to fame for his starring role in the Reacher series, comes to us with a new war story that is somewhat futuristic and somewhat realistic.

    2.jpg

When I saw the movie poster, I thought it would be an Edge of Tomorrow style copy, since it dealt with a special suit and possibly aliens, but to my surprise, the movie was totally different.

    3.jpg

They combined a realistic theme with a futuristic touch that I found to be excellently done, something totally balanced, without exaggerations, and with so much action and drama that it keeps you on the edge of your seat.

    4.jpg

I enjoyed seeing Jai Courtney for a brief moment playing a military role, which I like. Although his participation was short, his role inspired almost the entire plot of the film, and, incredibly, Courtney is younger than Ritchson, a detail that I found important in the film, since I always thought Courtney was older than the other two.

    5.jpg

I also liked the touch of mystery and the fact that no one was sure they could survive; in other words, the movie wasn't predictable, since anything could happen at any moment.

    6.jpg

As for the futuristic touch and that strange machine that was found on the way to their goal of obtaining the rank of Ranger, I liked it quite a bit because they made it different from what I had already seen and dangerously hard to kill.

    7.jpg

As for the dialogue and the script, it was simple, nothing profound, nothing out of the ordinary; they kept it classic, those typical phrases that are usually said to inspire in military training.

    8.jpg

This resulted in a film with a plot development that was easy to digest and totally enjoyable for an audience looking for something different, fresh, and action-packed.

    9.jpg

The only thing I missed while watching it was my container of popcorn. If I'd had some, I would have enjoyed it more, without a doubt, since the plot intensifies so much that it creates anxiety, and in my case, it makes me want to eat 🤣. I don't know if you'll feel the same way. Personally, I recommend it and give it a full 5 stars.

  4. A Geeky Guy's Guide to War Machine@hanshotfirst101d

I just looked up the age of the writer of this movie. I figured he absolutely had to be near my age. Sure enough Patrick Hughes is also a child of the 70s... although he was born after Star Wars was released. But he is still in the exact wheel house I thought he would be in.

Why was it so easy for me to predict his age? War Machine is basically a combination of just about every one of the action and sci-fi movies I loved as a kid. It is honestly like a bunch of 50 year olds were sitting around drinking and saying, "Man wouldn't it be cool if we could make a movie that combined the Predator and the Terminator?" And then that really got the ball rolling with someone adding in , "But let's also make it like Clint Eastwood's Heartbreak Ridge!" Another adds, "How about a little nit of An Officer and a Gentleman for the ladies?". Finally someone screams, "And add in Southern Comfort!"

Boom! There you go! The perfect recipe for a sci-fi action movie.

Somehow I got my wife to watch this movie with me. Perhaps it had to do with the fact that hunky and all around nice guy Alan Ritchson was the star, but that's cool with me. I was just happy she watched it. She did not know one very important detail of the movie. She thought it was just going to be a war movie. Clearly she had not seen a single preview that reveals that this is a sci-fi movie. As soon as the first hint of an alien appeared she made me pause and asked "What is the. movie about? is it about..." I just nodded my head and smiled, "Oh yeah, its aliens!" She laughed and continued to watch.

And it was a good thing she did otherwise she would have missed the sheer joy of unadulterated ridiculous action sequence after action sequence.

I already give the writer, Hughes, credit for mashing together a ton of great 80s movies, but he actually did write enough of a story to make you care about some of the characters. Even though I would have been five with five minutes of exposition and a few flashbacks, Hughes takes his time to set up the movie. For the first half hour, it seems like it could be a really cool advertisement for the Army Rangers. But then... it gets batshit crazy! And we loved every second of it!

After those first 30 minutes of establishing the characters, the movie becomes 60 minutes of action scenes with a few breaks in between so the CGI artists didn't get carpel-tunnel syndrome. So much stuff (and people) blows up real good. It is insane!

If you like even one of the movies on the list of mashups, you will love this movie. It knows what it is and never pretends to be anything than mindless entertainment.

Wait. there is actually a message in there. Mechanics are the greatest heroes in the world! Not only is this movie a non-stop action roller coaster, it is also a love letter to every mechanic out there. Thank you for being so smart! We could never defeat alien killing machines without you! (And I couldn't change my oil).

If you like action movies and think your brain needs a 90 minute break, go watch War Machine on Netflix!

  5. War Machine (2026) Review@kingsleyy102d

I found out lately that my IQ level when it comes to movies has gone way different from that of other people who are really into movies. I wanted to say "reduced," but no, it has actually increased because I still have a taste for good movies when I see one, and I don’t just go with people’s opinions.

Before I settled down to watch the WAR MACHINE movie, I gave it a lot of thought because the hype was so loud, and I didn’t want it to end up being a waste of time like other overly hyped movies I’ve watched and ended up rating 2/10, especially the likes of...(oh, let me not spoil your fun).

WAR MACHINE is a really good and entertaining movie for me, a pure display of soldier enlistment criteria and how things happen on the battlefield. It was direct, with no unrelated subplots to prolong or unnecessarily stretch the movie. There were no excessive large-screen computer traces or pointless telephone calls by people seated in a control room. It was a very direct and straightforward movie.

The movie is all about being enlisted into the highest form of military in the US Army, called the Rangers. A lot of soldiers with different specializations enrolled, but the criteria to reach the top and qualify was almost like dying, going to hell, and coming back alive. The soldiers were given number tags as their names, and Alan Ritchson went by tag 81.

The training was brutal, and there were a series of eliminations that filtered out the unqualified without mercy or consideration.

The final phase was intense, where the remaining soldiers were hunted by a machine they encountered in the bush, a machine said to have come from another planet. Honestly, I love how they introduced the alien concept, unlike other movies where highly computerized machines are brought into play without any explanation or origin.

The machine was brutal, equipped with multiple attack features that made it easy for it to take down anyone and anything.

The part that almost annoyed me was when everyone was trying to save the soldier who was shot in the leg. They could have left him to die, but in the end, he survived while those trying to save him sacrificed their lives. Ohh, this isn’t a spoiler, please.

    I would rate it 10/10.

    Thanks for reading.

  6. War Machine | Movie Review [ENG-ESP]@davidpena21105d

    maes.jpg Source

Military history films have gained momentum lately, even though they all follow the same formula: well-trained soldiers, dangerous missions, and a constant struggle to survive in extreme situations. That’s why War Machine was recently released; it manages to combine two elements that make the story compelling, starting with military training and an unexpected threat that turns everything into a real battle, all while keeping up with the latest technology.

The story introduces us to a group of soldiers undergoing one of the most rigorous training phases and preparations to become Rangers—a significant challenge that not everyone is willing to take on. However, to amp up the excitement and keep the tension rising every minute, what seems like an extreme survival exercise soon turns into something far more dangerous when an unknown threat appears—and this is where we ask ourselves: Will these soldiers be able to hold their ground? Is this just another military drill, or is it genuinely dangerous?

    image.png Source

It’s one of those military films with a fast-paced rhythm where every second counts in war, which is why there’s a constant tension from the very beginning that keeps the viewer on the edge of their seat. You can also sense the intense training, endurance, and discipline required to be there—especially knowing they’re facing an enemy who always seems to have the upper hand. Another interesting aspect of the film is the blend of atmospheres; at first glance, it seems like a war movie, but in reality, there are moments that feel closer to suspense or even horror.

    image.png Source

The scenes in this film are very well crafted, and the movie makes excellent use of the natural settings where the story unfolds, lending it a much more realistic feel. The use of open landscapes, forests, and rugged terrain helps create an atmosphere where the soldiers seem completely exposed, reinforcing the idea that they are facing something for which no one prepared them.

Every character in this film has a significant role and a great responsibility for being there, and one of them is Alan Ritchson, who brings the physical presence and intensity that a story of this kind requires. His character is a soldier burdened by his own past who, amid the chaos, tries to keep the group together as the situation grows increasingly dangerous; moreover, many see him as a hero because of the way he makes decisions.

    image.png Source

I really liked the outcome of this new movie, War Machine, as it blends action with a touch of science fiction, successfully building tension and showing how humanity must face whatever comes its way. It’s also an entertaining experience, packed with adrenaline and suspenseful moments that keep the story moving.

  7. War Machine (2026)@mofijul107d

    image.png source

Hi friends, how are you all? Hope you are doing well. Friends, today I watched a Hollywood movie. Hollywood movies are action movies, and they are full of great action scenes. Since I love watching action movies a lot, my favorite list always has action movies. I was waiting to watch this movie for a long time; today it was time, so I decided to watch the movie without delay, and I thought I would share some things about this movie with my friends.

At the beginning of the movie, a message comes through the walkie-talkie in the control room of the USA Army in Afghanistan that a soldier's vehicle has been damaged and a backup team needs to be sent there urgently. After hearing the message on the walkie-talkie, the team immediately goes to that place and repairs the vehicle. In the meantime, the Taliban members attack, and in such a way that all the officers there are brutally killed; fortunately, one soldier survives. The soldier who survives carries another soldier on his shoulders, meaning he tries his best to save him because the soldier who carries him on his shoulders and moves forward is his own brother. At the beginning, the director gives a serious twist that I really liked. The beginning of the movie is great.

    image.png source

Basically, it is a mission-based movie. There is some serious suspense from the beginning to the end, which you will like very much. I really like the way the director has presented the story. It is really very commendable. This movie will be an ideal movie for those who like action movies. Mission-based movies have a kind of category, but this movie is a completely different style, and the director has presented his story. Due to this, this movie has become more exciting.

Everyone who acted in this movie has portrayed their characters very beautifully, and it is not without praising the work of those working behind the camera. They have each presented their work very beautifully. I really liked everyone's performance in this movie. Those who have seen this movie will agree with me, and those who have not seen this movie yet, if you have watched Hollywood movies, then you can watch this movie. I hope you will like it.

  8. War Machine (film) : Not Brad Pitt's finest work@gooddream2465d

There are a lot of war films out there. There are a lot of people that could argue that it is the most popular genre for movies and some of my personal favorites of all time fall in that line. Biopics are fun as well and this one presents itself in a believable fashion as being based on fact. Unfortunately, it is not based on fact and for the most part the things that happen in this movie, while believable, just aren't terribly entertaining.

    poster.jpg source

This movie is complete satire about the horrible occupation that the United States has undertaken in Afghanistan for most of my adult life and how every now and then a general will come along that promises to be the solution to the problem that is "how do we end this?? Brad Pitt plays exactly that sort of general in this movie

    b9c2aaceb5fef69beb4f6765eb825d0c.jpg source

Pitt plays the role of 4-star General Glen McMahon who is a decorated and celebrated leader of combat from Iraq that is sent to Afghanistan because Obama is convinced he is exactly the guy that is needed to finally end the ongoing conflict in that country. I want to state again that all the characters in this film are completely fictional (other than Karzai and Obama, who doesn't actually appear in the film but the doppelganger and creative camera angles make it appear as though he is.)

McMahon is respected and feared by his men and he is given a blank slate and a bland check to to what needs to be done in order to achieve victory. There is only one thing that he is not allowed to do - he can NOT request more troops to be sent to the country - which he almost immediately does.

    [source](https://movies.mxdwn.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/4b517d1dc626d20f-600x400.jpg)

There are a bunch of great actors in this film including Ben Kingsley who looks alarmingly like President Hamid Karzai of Afghanistan. Other notable actors include Topher Grace (who I don't actually like,) Tilda Swinton (also don't like but does a good job in most things,) and Will Poulter (who I REALLY like and don't think gets enough roles.) However, the "hey I know that person!" factor that exists in the film isn't really enough to take away from the fact that this film is actually quite boring.

For one thing, it kind of promises to be a wartime action-oriented film but instead of that it delivers a rather boring but-intended-to-be-funny presentation of the politics that takes place behind the scenes in American military operations.

[source](http://reggiebrownobamaimpersonator.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/War-Machine-3-700x296.jpg) the Obama sequences were pretty brilliantly shot

There is only one full action battle scene in the entire film and it is over entirely too fast. That particular part of the film is great and i really would have liked to see more of them because what is portrayed is very close to what friends of mine who actually did serve in Afghanistan describe.

I have sort of high expectations of Brad Pitt and I feel as though for the most part he delivers in this roles. I do not consider this film to be a failure because of Mr. Pitt, i think the movie is just a poorly designed script that promises action but instead has an element of satire that was meant to be funny but unfortunately doesn't achieve that end, but just manages to be sad and boring. I think their attempt was to point out the futility of war in Afghanistan and i suppose if you look hard enough, that is kind of what they portray but they try a little to hard to make this a subtle comedy in the process.

I can't really recommend this film especially considering that Netflix currently has tens of thousands of films to pick from. I would say, despite the star-power present in this one, to give it a miss.
