I have continued watching miniseries about millionaire frauds based on real facts, several days ago I gave my opinion about Inventing Anna and The Dropout. Now it is the turn of a miniseries that narrates some recent events, although the protagonists of this story have a different ending than the others, it is still about another great financial fraud: WeWork.
Opportunities
Neumann is a liar, of that there is no doubt, but there is no denying that he had the vision and luck, those two factors came together, to make a project a reality. Renting work spaces was not an original idea, it was something that was already being done, with small real estate companies that took advantage of their spaces to rent them. But Neumann went further and added his extravagant concept and knew how to monetize coworking.
The idea was successful, he sold a concept of necessary environments for freelancers, small businesses and all those who for some reason needed a physical space for a certain affordable price, adding the idea that the important thing was the relationships between people, in a city where there are many lonely people, focused on their business, the idea of WeWork was to create the perfect environment to work and have fun.
He seized the opportunity and made it apparently profitable, but when the money starts to flow and you decide to give yourself countless luxuries and whims, to the detriment of employee salaries, neglecting the human resources area, leaving the field free to injustices and worst of all is that madness blinds you and what you do is spend more than you produce, the time comes when investors, expecting a return, will take control of everything to right the ship and prevent it from sinking.
Unlike Holmes, Neumann did offer a functional business model, only his life of excess and profligacy took the company from being valued at nearly $50 million to near bankruptcy. The fates of these characters have also been different, one will face a court decision in September this year and Neumann, on the other hand, remains wealthy and taking advantage of the miniseries premiere has stated that he is thinking of new business ideas.

La idea tuvo éxito, vendió un concepto de entornos necesarios para autónomos, pequeñas empresas y todos aquellos que por alguna razón necesitaban un espacio físico por un determinado precio asequible, añadiendo la idea de que lo importante eran las relaciones entre las personas, en una ciudad donde hay mucha gente solitaria, centrada en su negocio, la idea de WeWork era crear el entorno perfecto para trabajar y divertirse.
Aprovechó la oportunidad y la hizo aparentemente rentable, pero cuando el dinero empieza a fluir y decides darte innumerables lujos y caprichos, en detrimento de los sueldos de los empleados, descuidando el área de recursos humanos, dejando el campo libre a las injusticias y lo peor de todo es que la locura te ciega y lo que haces es gastar más de lo que produces, llega el momento en que los inversores, esperando una rentabilidad, tomarán el control de todo para enderezar el barco y evitar que se hunda.
A diferencia de Holmes, Neumann sí que ofreció un modelo de negocio funcional, sólo que su vida de excesos y despilfarros llevó a la empresa de estar valorada en casi 50 millones de dólares a estar cerca de la quiebra. Los destinos de estos personajes también han sido diferentes, uno se enfrentará a una decisión judicial en septiembre de este año y Neumann, por el contrario, sigue siendo rico y aprovechando el estreno de la miniserie ha declarado que está pensando en nuevas ideas de negocio.

What moviegoer could resist not watching this series with these two famous actors? I am not a fan of the apple company, but we must recognize that they have gone for it, the amount of subscribers they manage is very low compared to other streaming platforms, but what matters to me is that they are investing in quality, something that favors us viewers.
The creators of the miniseries are: Drew Crevello and Lee Eisenberg, with experience in film and television, the former was inside superhero productions like X-Men and the latter in the hit sitcom Good Boys. Together they have adapted the podcast that dealt with the WeWork case, transforming it into a miniseries. are they doing a good job? From my point of view, each one brings their own style to a story that has many things that seem impossible to happen, but that's how these frauds are, impossible to believe.

Son dos grandes ligas de la meca del cine y han elegido una historia reciente sobre el fraude, un tema que está siendo explotado por diferentes productoras.
¿Qué cinéfilo podría resistirse a no ver esta serie con estos dos famosos actores? No soy fan de la compañía de la manzana, pero hay que reconocer que han apostado por ella, la cantidad de suscriptores que manejan es muy baja en comparación con otras plataformas de streaming, pero lo que me importa es que están invirtiendo en calidad, algo que nos favorece a los espectadores.

Maybe the real character is that eccentric and exaggerated, but the miniseries character sometimes becomes unbearable. Warning: I'm not saying Leto does a bad job, on the contrary, to cause that effect of unpleasantness, I think it's because he plays him so well.
So far I like the scenes where both actors are together. They convey that union that was forged between the characters in real life, because they both love each other, stay together, with a large family and continue to enjoy a life of privilege. This is another aspect that stands out in the miniseries, Neumann would never have achieved what he did without the support of his wife.
The fool
If I were Miguel McKelvey I would be very upset with the creators of the miniseries. He is with founder of WeWolr along with Neumann. In the series he is played by actor Kyle Marvin and is shown as a manipulative, spineless and practically a fool who would do anything Neumann told him to do. He may be a docile person in real life, but in the TV character we are shown that he is too dumb, which provokes is to walk into the screen and slap him in the face Will Smith style.

Menciono a Gwyneth Paltrow en este escrito porque también es empresaria y se ha visto envuelta en ciertos escándalos con sus empresas. Ha sido acusada de vender productos de baja calidad y de engañar a los consumidores. Pero tener ideas locas no es sólo cosa de Neumann. La famosa actriz puso a la venta hace un tiempo velas perfumadas con su vagina. Jajaja Ta como te digo, son cosas que parecen imposibles de creer, pero son la realidad. Lo peor es que hay gente que las compra y creo que cada una vale unos 80 dólares. Esto me reafirma que la sociedad está realmente mal y hay mucha gente que realmente quiere ser estafada. ¿Comprarías esas velas?
Jared Leto
Admiro a Jared Leto, me parece un excelente actor, pero desde que interpretó el desastre del Joker en Suicide Squad soy más detallista en los papeles que interpreta. Aquí se transforma en Neumann , exagerando el acento israelí y dando rienda suelta a la sobreactuación en muchas escenas. Quizás el personaje real sea así de excéntrico y exagerado, pero el de la miniserie a veces se hace insoportable. Advertencia: No digo que Leto haga un mal trabajo, al contrario, para causar ese efecto de desagrado, creo que es porque lo interpreta muy bien.
Hasta ahora me gustan las escenas en las que ambos actores están juntos. Transmiten esa unión que se forjó entre los personajes en la vida real, porque ambos se aman, permanecen juntos, con una familia numerosa y siguen disfrutando de una vida de privilegios. Este es otro aspecto que destaca en la miniserie, Neumann nunca hubiera logrado lo que hizo sin el apoyo de su esposa.
El tonto
Si yo fuera Miguel McKelvey estaría muy molesto con los creadores de la miniserie. Él es con fundador de WeWolr junto con Neumann. En la serie es interpretado por el actor Kyle Marvin y es mostrado como un manipulador, sin carácter y prácticamente un tonto que haría cualquier cosa que Neumann le dijera. Puede que sea una persona dócil en la vida real, pero en el personaje televisivo se nos muestra que es demasiado tonto, lo que provoca que entre en la pantalla y le dé una bofetada al estilo Will Smith.
I don't find WeCrashed as entertaining as The Dropout, I think it sometimes takes too seriously the story of that unicorn called WeWork. By the way, in the intro of the miniseries a unicorn appears and I invite you to research on the internet what unicorns have to do with all this.
In some moments the story needs more black humor, but the performances of the main actors are outstanding and enough to keep us attentive to all the events surrounding the rise and fall of Adam Neumann, because in reality the company is still operating with headquarters in several countries, even in Latin America.

WeCrashed no me parece tan entretenida como The Dropout, creo que a veces se toma demasiado en serio la historia de ese unicornio llamado WeWork. Por cierto, en la intro de la miniserie aparece un unicornio y los invito a que investiguéis en internet qué tienen que ver los unicornios con todo esto.
En algunos momentos la historia necesita más humor negro, pero las interpretaciones de los actores principales son destacables y suficientes para mantenernos atentos a todos los acontecimientos que rodean el auge y la caída de Adam Neumann, porque en realidad la empresa sigue funcionando con sedes en varios países, incluso en Latinoamérica.
