We already know that sometimes the market is up and sometimes it is down. We also know that we can analyze the cycles in minutes, hours, days, weeks, months or years. Well, that's life and I got caught in a few down months.
It is not that I have been “bad”, but that I have been like recalibrating myself, literally, as if I were a compass that for a moment lost the north.

Ya sabemos que a veces el mercado está en alza y otras veces está a la baja. Sabemos también que podemos analizar los ciclos en minutos, horas, días, semanas, meses o años. Bueno, así es la vida y a mí me agarraron unos meses a la baja.

I have already watched several productions, in these weeks, but today I will tell you about one that caught my attention.
It is “Where the crawdads sing”, a film produced by none other than Reese Witherspoon, the actress who played numerous roles on the big screen.
It is a complex film that surprises with its ending. It is not entirely unexpected and I would say that at one point in the film it becomes evident, but then they know how to disconcert the viewer.
Parece algo bastante normal dado que estoy en constante movimiento y ya diría que en un proceso migratorio real (esto siempre puede cambiar). Solo que cuando se vive en carne propia… bueno, se hace algo complicado.

En fin, cuestión que hasta me alejé de las películas y las series. Pero el otro día, intentando recuperar hábitos que me hacen bien, me di cuenta que ver cada tanto algo en la tele, era algo que me relajaba, así que di de alta otra vez a Netflix.
He visto ya varias producciones, en estas semanas, pero hoy les hablaré de una que me llamó bastante la atención.
Se trata de “La chica salvaje”, una película producida nada más y nada menos que por Reese Witherspoon, la actriz que representó a numerosos papeles en la pantalla grande.
Es una película compleja que sorprende con su final. No es por completo inesperado y diría que en un momento de la película se hace evidente, pero luego saben desconcertar a la audiencia.
Kya, interpreted by Daisy Edgar-Jones, is a girl who basically grows up in a forest. Before watching the movie I thought she was abandoned there as a baby, but the story goes that little by little her family starts to leave because of an alcoholic and abusive father.
Her mother had tried to get her children back, but the father made the letter where he said so disappear, so no one ever finds out until they are all adults.
In a society that was developing and inviting young people to study and work in urban centers, Kaia ends up staying in a house in the forest, finally being abandoned by her father when she was a little girl.
Knowing the basics to survive in that place, she ends up learning more and finally mastering the art of living in the middle of nowhere.
The thing is that as an adult she becomes a sort of “misfit”, because in the eyes of the people, she is a lonely girl who lives in the wild, and that makes her “wild”.
Kya, interpretada por Daisy Edgar-Jones, es una chica que básicamente crece en un bosque. Antes de ver la película pensé que la habían abandonado allí desde bebé, pero la historia cuenta que poco a poco su familia empieza a irse debido a un padre alcohólico y maltratador.
Su madre había intentado recuperar a sus hijos, pero el padre hizo desaparecer la carta en donde lo expresaba, por lo que nadie se entera jamás hasta que todos son adultos.
En una sociedad que iba desarrollándose e invitando a los jóvenes a estudiar y trabajar en los núcleos urbanos, Kaia termina por quedar en una casa del bosque, siendo finalmente abandonada por su padre cuando era una pequeña niña.
Sabiendo lo básico para sobrevivir en aquel lugar, termina por aprender más y por dominar finalmente, el arte de la vida en el medio de la nada.
El tema es que de adulta pasa a ser una especie de “inadaptada”, pues para los ojos del pueblo, es una chica solitaria que vive en la naturaleza, y eso la hace “salvaje”.

Many times we are marginalized because we are different, and although discrimination in all its forms is trying to be eradicated, it still exists, and sometimes in such subtle ways that touch our innermost fibers without us even realizing it.
In addition, the film shows us female courage, and I don't want to get all “feminist”, but it really lets us see how women, beyond the fact that we are often seen as more vulnerable, we draw strength from where it seems it doesn't exist to not only survive, but to go out and shine.
Yes, men and women can do this, but again, although it seems to be eradicated, there is a look towards the female gender that in many places still believes that being a woman “can't do it”. Well... this film shows us the opposite.

La película nos lleva a analizar situaciones que actualmente tambalean vivimos, y en donde “lo salvaje”, el bosque, no es necesariamente lo natural sino la propia diferencia. Muchas veces por diferentes nos marginan, y aunque la discriminación en todas sus formas esté intentando ser erradicada, sigue existiendo, y a veces de maneras tan sutiles que tocan nuestras fibras internas más lejanas sin que siquiera nos demos cuenta.
Además la película nos muestra el coraje femenino, y no quiero ponerme en “feminista”, pero realmente nos deja ver cómo las mujeres, más allá de que muchas veces nos vean como más vulnerables, sacamos fuerza desde donde pareciera que no existe para no solamente sobrevivir, sino para salir a brillar.
Sí, hombres y mujeres podemos hacer esto, pero nuevamente, aunque parezca que se va erradicando, hay una mirada hacia el género femenino que en muchos lugares todavía cree que por ser mujer “no se puede”. Bueno… esta película nos muestra lo contrario.

Además la producción aborda el tema de la supervivencia desde lo literalmente visceral hasta lo emocional. Y nos introduce el tema de la creatividad en relación a esto. Nos muestra cómo ante una amenaza tal que pone en jaque la vida, nuestra imaginación y creatividad nos acompañarán para salir adelante.
Y además la producción nos deja una pregunta abierta. Y no quiero spoilear con esta pregunta, pero… básicamente nos plantea el cuestionamiento de ¿Dónde está el límite de lo correcto?
Opinion
I loved the movie. I think that in a kind way delicate issues are introduced and it is a production that comes to open a lot of minds to both men and women.
“The Wild Girl” is in the end any woman living in a world that is slowly moving forward in its process of gender equality.
The Wild Girl is all of us, who once had to survive, who made brave and challenging decisions, who had to defend our place, who appealed to creativity in order to shine.
It is a beautiful film to empower us, to accompany us, and to be seen by men and women.

La película me encantó. Creo que de una manera amable se introducen temas delicados y es una producción que viene a abrir mucho la mente tanto a hombres y a mujeres.
”La chica salvaje” es al final cualquier mujer que vive en un mundo que lentamente va avanzando en su proceso de igualdad de género.
La Chica Salvaje somos todas, que alguna vez tuvimos que sobrevivir, que tomamos decisiones valientes y desafiantes, que tuvimos que defender nuestro lugar, que apelamos a la creatividad para poder brillar.
Es una película bellísima para empoderarnos, para acompañarnos, y para que sea vista por hombres y por mujeres.
