Disfrutando con la familia polaca [ESP/ENG]

Hola a todos! la abuela de mi esposo nos invitó el fin de semana pasado a su casa, y aunque estaba haciendo bastante calor el domingo, igualmente decidimos ir, y les cuento que fue la mejor decisión porque la pasamos increíble, en realidad siempre la pasamos genial allá, pero ahora que está Dorota (la mujer del tío de mi esposo) es mejor porque gracias a ella también comemos delicioso jajaja.

Primero estuvimos conversando un rato todos, además de tomar mucha agua, pues aunque los árboles daban fresco, el calor igualmente se sentía, Olivia se divertía montandose en el tobogan que tenían allí pero también jugaba pelota con el tío de mi esposo y por supuesto se entretenía viendo los patos y las gallinas, por eso yo amo ir allí porque hay tantas cosas que Olivia puede hacer al aire libre y en contacto con la naturaleza.

Luego llegó la hora del almuerzo, y como les contaba, la señora Dorota nos preparó una deliciosa comida polaca, rosół y también gallina guisada con papas y remolacha, a mí me encantó todo pues amo la comida casera y ahora me dieron muchas ganas de preparar más comida polaca en casa, así que le pregunté la receta de la remolacha pues en mi país la comemos de una manera diferente y como la hizo ella me encantó.

Para terminar fuímos a ver su cosecha, tenían tantas cosas sembradas y nos regalaron varias cosas de esas como eneldo, pepinos, fresas y también Pawel, Olivia y yo bajamos muchas cerezas para traer a casa, no fue un trabajo fácil por el calor que estaba haciendo ese día pero valió la pena y ya empezamos a preparar nuestro licor de cereza jajaja. Sin duda alguna la pasamos increíble allí, y espero que podamos volver otra vez este año antes de que termine el verano porque me encanta pasar tiempo allí rodeada de naturaleza y con personas tan agradables.

Hi, everyone! My husband’s grandmother invited us over to her house last weekend, and even though it was pretty hot on Sunday, we decided to go anyway—and I’ll tell you, it was the best decision because we had an amazing time. Actually, we always have a great time there, but now that Dorota (my husband’s uncle’s wife) is there, it’s even better because thanks to her, we get to eat delicious food too, hahaha.

First, we all chatted for a while and drank plenty of water—even though the trees provided some shade, you could still feel the heat. Olivia had fun riding the slide they had there, but she also played ball with my husband’s uncle and, of course, enjoyed watching the ducks and chickens. That’s why I love going there—there are so many things Olivia can do outdoors and in touch with nature.

Then it was time for lunch, and as I was telling you, Mrs. Dorota prepared a delicious Polish meal for us: rosół and chicken stew with potatoes and beets. I loved everything—I’m a big fan of home-cooked food—and now I really want to make more Polish food at home, so I asked her for the beetroot recipe because in my country we eat it differently, and I loved the way she made it.

To wrap things up, we went to see their garden—they had so many things growing—and they gave us some of their produce, like dill, cucumbers, and strawberries. Pawel, Olivia, and I also picked a lot of cherries to take home. It wasn’t an easy job because of how hot it was that day, but it was worth it, and we’ve already started making our cherry liqueur, hahaha. We definitely had an amazing time there, and I hope we can go back again this year before summer ends because I love spending time there surrounded by nature and such nice people.
