Hi, everyone! Today is #TBT Thursday, a chance to look back on what a great time Pawel, Olivia, and I had at the Poland Rock Festival, and I’m really counting down the days until we can go back—Olivia is too, actually, because she sometimes tells me she wants to go camping again. The whole family loves camping—even though it was really hot there, we had an incredible time. One thing I really liked about going there was that we had a daily routine, and I’ll tell you more about it below.
Lo primero por supuesto, era lavarnos los dientes y después preparar el café, Pawel y yo no podíamos empezar el día sin café y a mi esposo le quedaba bastante bueno, luego de eso, montabamos el desayuno, arepas con huevo cocido para Olivia y calentamos frijoles de lata con pan para nosotros, lo cual nos daba energía suficiente para irnos a caminar, y la necesitabamos porque la verdad es que allí se caminaba bastante.
The first thing, of course, was to brush our teeth and then make coffee; Pawel and I couldn’t start the day without coffee, and my husband actually liked it quite a bit. After that, we’d make breakfast: arepas with a hard-boiled egg for Olivia, and we’d heat up canned beans with bread for ourselves, which gave us enough energy to go for a walk—and we needed it because, honestly, we did a lot of walking there.
Luego nos ibamos a pasear, vimos muchas cosas interesantes allí, había un lugar para rezar, nos regalaban cosas en algunas partes (además del ramen por supuesto jaja) como unos lentes o un protector de agua para el celular. Claro que nos hacíamos fotos también, y después ibamos a comprar una merecida cerveza para refrescarnos del calor que estaba haciendo allí, por supuesto decidí comprar mi vaso del festival porque se veía muy lindo, este costó 10 eslotis o 2.6 dólares aproximadamente, es pequeño pero me encantaba.
Then we went for a walk; we saw a lot of interesting things there. There was a place to pray, and in some spots they gave us free stuff (besides the ramen, of course, haha), like sunglasses or a waterproof case for our cell phones. Of course, we took pictures too, and afterward we went to buy a well-deserved beer to cool off from the heat—I decided to buy my festival mug because it looked so cute; it cost 10 eslotis, or about $2.60. It’s small, but I loved it.
Llego el momento de comer otra vez, y es que el tiempo allí se pasaba muy rápido y también se comía delicioso, pues venden unos platos muy sabrosos, nosotros comprabamos casi todos los días, Placki ziemniaczane z gulaszem z kurczaka (Tortitas de papa con guiso de pollo) y unas papas condimentadas y con eneldo que estaban demasiado sabrosas y que les recomiendo probar si van allí, claro que también tenían más opciones, como pizzas, hamburguesas, kebab, pero esto que nosotros probamos nos encantó y a Olivia también.
It was time to eat again—time really flew by there, and the food was delicious, too, since they serve some really tasty dishes. We ordered almost every day: Placki ziemniaczane z gulaszem z kurczaka (potato pancakes with chicken stew) and some seasoned potatoes with dill that were incredibly tasty—I highly recommend trying them if you go there. Of course, they also had other options, like pizzas, hamburgers, and kebabs, but we loved what we tried, and so did Olivia.
Después de comer, refrescarnos, hacernos fotos (incluso con los hermosos girasoles allí), y escuchar conciertos, nos ibamos a hacer las respectivas comprar en Lidl como pan, agua, helados, cosas de aseo personal, siempre había una cola grande, pero esta avanzaba rápido, aunque nosotros por estar con una niña teníamos prioridad para entrar, lo cual era perfecto, y más tarde claro que nos ibamos a relajar y jugar con Olivia en la carpa para luego dormir, porque necesitabamos energía para el siguiente día. Sin duda alguna amo recordar nuestra rutina allí y me encanta compartirlo con ustedes para que quizá algunos se animen a venir el proximo año, pues la verdad a nosotros nos encantó y la pasamos increíble allí.
After eating, cooling off, taking pictures (even with the beautiful sunflowers there), and listening to concerts, we’d go do our shopping at Lidl for things like bread, water, ice cream, and personal hygiene items—there was always a long line, but it moved quickly. Since we were with a little girl, we had priority to enter, which was perfect. Later, of course, we’d relax and play with Olivia in the tent before going to sleep, because we needed energy for the next day. I absolutely love remembering our routine there, and I love sharing it with you so that maybe some of you will be inspired to come next year—because, honestly, we loved it and had an incredible time there.
