Last time we finally started the game for real. At first our character Coen had a dream about his little sister going missing and becoming a vampire after we found her. In the dream she also turned Coen into vampire as well. After that we woke up and tried to feed our mother who refuses to eat anything. And she needs to be strong for a ritual meeting with our vampires overlords in church. Otherwise she could be killed for being too weak. So our father Pieter asked Coen to go see a healer and buy stronger medicine for our mother. After walking out of our house we picked our first side quest. It turns out that vampire ruler Brencis order an old woman to make a banner. And one full stole it-he believed that this sign of resistance is a way to fight vampires. We convinced him to return the banner. After that we went to the healer and saw weird marks on her hands. We also got the better medicine. Then we went fishing with our younger siblings. One of Brencis officers found us and started asking too many questions about our father. So we fought an unfair duel- officer had a sword and Coen had his bare hands. After that some monster who also serves Brencis ordered the officer to leave us be. After that we beat some local weirdo who was bad mouthing us and our family. In fact we beat him up twice. First time by our own initiative and second time as a favor to his dad. Then we went home and had a spar fight with our dad(who is a former sellsword). He beat us and then told us that another villager Vladimir asked him to lead people in rebellion against Brencis and his vampires horde. Pieter was smart enough to know that such fight would require heavy casualties even if we will win. So he was hesitant about making this choice.
This time we had very little time left before Mass(meeting with Brencis and his minions). And in this game doing quests progress time. So we could only do one side quest before that. This side quest proved to be interesting. A woman found out that someone robbed the grave of her grandson. So we offered to find the criminal. This person robbed the grave to get a silver crucifix. He believed that we need any silver we can get in order to fight against vampires. Even if it takes robbing graves to get. But that was just a first step. His bigger plan was to go to the mines and get more silver. We agreed to not tell the woman who robbed the grave. Dead are dead. And this robber at least had a decent idea how to fight vampires and their ruler Brencis. The woman then asked us to reburry the grave. This took all the time we had left before meating with vampires.
After that we went to the Mass. We arrived barely in time. We spoke with Vladimir. He wanted to know if our father will agree to lead the rebellion. We also flirted with a local healer a bit. And maybe we will have a date some time later? After that Brencis's bootlicker priest started praising vampire overlord. Once he as done Brencis himself and his few generals came to the crunch. And then ritual began- a priest mixed Brencis blood with blood of all the villagers gathered there and gave it for them to drink. Soon enough it was our mother's turn to give and drink blood but she was not stable enough to act according to the ritual. She tried to run away. That was big mistake. Brencis minions held us and our farther on the floor while vampire generals slaughtered our mother in front of our eyes. So now this fight against vampires became very personal.
Then the Mass was over we got home and our father started drinking. But soon enough he came back to his senses. He made his decision to lead people into mines and then in rebellion. Well in this situation maybe it would be more right to say that vampires forced his hand and made the decidion for him? Anyway our group went to the mines to get as much silver as possible. But we did not do a lot of work before our guard at mines entrance came rushing in. He told us that Brencis men(and vampires?) are coming to kill us all. Our father Pieter tried to organize resistance but it was futile. Untrained villagers stood no chance against the forces that attacked us. Our character Coen was injured and lost consciousness. After we woke Vladimir was looking after our wound. He told us that many peasants were killed but our father may still be alive somewhere in the mines. So Coen decide to go looking for our father.
