Last time We ,,rescued'' the Duchess sister Syanna...Well it turned out that she did not need any rescue and that she also was blackmailing her former lover vampire Dettlaff by pretending to be a damsel in distress. She used him to kill a few knights who led her to her banishment when she was younger. Dettlaff was not happy to find out that he was played as a tool. So he made an ultimatum- Syanna had to come to meet him and tell the whole thruth in a few days or else he will destroy the city. The Duchess decided that she is not having this and threw a few tantrums while demanding that we bring her the head of Dettlaff. But we know better. Fighting even a lesser vampire can be a hard task so facing a higher vampire would just be stupid. Also even if we would defeat Dettlaff only our best friend Regis(who is also a higher vampire and is indebtd his life to Dettlaff) could actually kill Dettlaff. We did not want to force Regis to kill his friend and savior. So we only pretended that we are looking for Dettlaff. Yes, we looked really hard. I like to imagine that we checked all the inns and brothels. While also playing cards. Anyway despite our best efforts we could not find Dettlaff. Three days went by quickly. And then Dettlaff proved that his threats were not empty. He controled an army of lesser vampires and they attacked the city. After that we spoke with Regis. He told us that should we decide to fight Dettlaff Regis will be at our side. But we decided to do Regis a favor and not force him in that situation. Instead we planned to go find Syanna and bring her to see Dettlaff.
This time we fought a few lesser vampires who were under Dettlaff's control. Like I said those were some quite hard fightds. But after a few tries we won. Then we saved the Duchess guards and their captain Damien. Damien told us where we can find Syanna. And we asked some crows to tell this information to Regis. We met with our vampire friend in the palace playroom. After that we examined the room and found out that Syanna is locked inside a illusion in the book of fairy tales. We said a magic word and traveled to the world of illusion as well.
Inside the land of fables we found Syanna who was talking with some wicked witch. The witch attacked us so we had to slay her. After that Syanna freed a little boy from the Witch hut. The boy told us about another child who should know the information Syanna needs to escape the illusion world- where we can find three magic beans. Syanna then told us about her hard past. How her parents banished and disowned her. How knights beat her and left her to die from hunger. How she met with a gang of bandits who were kinder to her than the ,,noble'' knights.
After that we found the liar. A boy who kept crying about wolves. This boy told us some lies about where we can find beans needed for escape. We were able to decipher those lies and get the truth. To find the beans we had to play a Red ridinghood with big bad wolf. We also visited three pigs and claimed the tower of Goldilocks.
After that we planted all three magical beans to the ground and they grew to the sky. We climbed above the clouds and fought with Cloud giant- the last obstacle to our path to freedom from the twisted fairy tale world. Soon enough the giant fell before our might and we escaped the illusion. Before we left Syanna wanted to sleep with us on the clouds but we refused because 1. We already have Yen. and 2. It seemes like Syanna is trying to manipulate us with sex. Just like she used Dettlaff in the past. But we are the player and not a pawn so we decided to play our own game.
After we escaped the illusion world Regis was already waiting for us. He and Syanna exchanged some ,,pleasantries''. Regis was not very happy that she used one of his best friends as a murder tool. After that we went to meet Dettlaff. He appeared out of mist and killed Syanna before we or Regis could save her life...that was not too hard because like I said before we did not want to fight Dettlaff and definitely did not want to force Regis to kill his friend. So we spared Dettlaff. Told him to leave us and live in peace.
Our actions had seemingly severe consequences. The Duchess blamed us for the death of her sister and threw us into prison where we had to wait for our sentence. In prison we met with a few men who ended up there due to some our previous choices. Back then we were still serving the The Duchess. So they were less than happy and wanted to beat us/ kill us. After few seconds all three of these men were were on the floor crying in pain like little babies. Then we were summoned to see guard captain. He told us that both him and the Duchess are quite furious about what we did. But someone had convinced the Duchess to spare our life.
It turns out that this someone who helped us was another our friend(and narrator of the game) a bard Dandelion. In the past he and the Duchess had an affair. So he managed to charm her and save us from execution. It went even better than I hoped for- the Duchess let us keep the vineyard that she had given us in the past. After talking with Dandelion we also spoke with Regis. He suspected that Syanna had plans to kill someone else before her death. This means that we still have some loose ends to tie up. But all in all this part was well played gambit. Syanna died. But it was a small price to pay. We got to save the city. Regis didn't had to kill his friend Dettlaff. And we still have our fancy new home...It seems that we played ,,the Game'' the best we could.
