This day began very early, as usual, with that quiet routine that’s now part of our lives and that, even so, always brings something new. Before heading out, as always, we wish everyone a beautiful and productive day, because starting with good wishes is almost like opening the door to positive energy. The morning was cool; it had rained in some parts of the island during the early hours, and that touch of moisture made everything shine a little brighter, as if nature had been given a gentle cleansing that brought out every color. As soon as we stepped outside, the sky gave us a hint of what the day would be like. It was overcast, and ever since I was a little girl at home, I’d always heard the saying: “A cloudy sky means wet ground.” That little piece of folk wisdom sticks with you, and you find yourself repeating it without even thinking. Even so, the scenery was undeniably beautiful, with that contrast between the clouds and the light filtering through timidly, creating a calm and pleasant atmosphere.
Este día comenzó muy temprano, como de costumbre, con esa rutina silenciosa que ya forma parte de nuestra vida y que, aun así, siempre trae algo nuevo. Antes de salir, como siempre, deseamos que todos tengan un día hermoso y productivo, porque comenzar con buenos deseos es casi como abrirle la puerta a la buena energía. La mañana estaba fresca; durante la madrugada llovió en algunos sectores de la Isla y ese toque de humedad hizo que todo brillara un poco más, como si la naturaleza hubiese recibido una limpieza suave que realzó cada color. Apenas salimos a la calle, el cielo nos dio señales de cómo sería la jornada. Estaba empedrado, y desde niña en mi casa siempre escuché la frase: "cielo empedrado es suelo mojado". Esa pequeña sabiduría popular que se queda grabada y que uno repite sin pensarlo. Aun así, los paisajes estaban irremediablemente hermosos, con ese contraste entre las nubes y la luz que se filtraba tímidamente, creando una atmósfera tranquila y agradable.
We had two important tasks for the day: attend a meeting at Sigo CPA to coordinate some services, and then carry out our chlorination and disinfection routine in one of the tanks at the Parque Costa Azul shopping center. We started with the meeting, which was scheduled for early in the morning. The day seemed straightforward, almost predictable, but when it comes to meetings, you never know—they can be brief or drag on longer than expected. This time, as is often the case, it went on quite a while.
Teníamos dos tareas importantes para este día; asistir a una reunión en Sigo CPA para coordinar unos servicios y luego realizar nuestra rutina de clorado y desinfección en uno de los tanques del centro comercial Parque Costa Azul. Comenzamos por la reunión, que estaba pautada temprano en la mañana. El día parecía simple, casi predecible, pero cuando se trata de reuniones, uno nunca sabe; pueden ser breves o extenderse más de lo esperado. Esta vez, como suele ocurrir, se alargó bastante.
We left Sigo CPA around lunchtime and headed to the Parque Costa Azul shopping center, where they were already waiting for us. The sky was still overcast, but not a single drop had fallen. Even so, the air remained cool—less hot than it had been weeks earlier—and everything pointed to rain coming that night, which would be a blessing for the plants that so desperately need it.
Salimos de Sigo CPA cerca del horario de almuerzo y nos dirigimos al centro comercial Parque Costa Azul, donde ya nos estaban esperando. El cielo seguía empedrado, pero ni una sola gota caía. When we arrived at the shopping center, we carried out our chlorination and disinfection routine. Everything went smoothly, which always fills us with joy and peace of mind—for them, because they can provide high-quality water to visitors; and for us, because we feel the satisfaction of knowing that we’re doing our job well, carrying it out with responsibility and dedication.
Al llegar al centro comercial, realizamos nuestra rutina de clorado y desinfección. Todo salió satisfactoriamente, lo que siempre nos llena de alegría y tranquilidad. When we were done, we decided to take a short walk through the mall, letting the day come to a peaceful close. And as has almost become a tradition, we ended up treating ourselves to a delicious barquilla—that little treat that makes any day a little sweeter. It was the perfect ending, a simple gesture that makes all the difference and stays with us as we look forward to the weekend, which is approaching at its own pace with its own surprises.
Al terminar, decidimos caminar un poco por el centro comercial, dejando que la jornada se cerrara con calma. Y como ya es casi tradición, terminamos probando una deliciosa barquilla, ese pequeño gusto que convierte cualquier día en algo más dulce. Fue el cierre perfecto, un detalle sencillo que marca la diferencia y que nos acompaña mientras pensamos en el fin de semana que se acerca con su propio ritmo y sus propias sorpresas.
