Greetings, dear friends of #lifestyle. I hope you’re all doing well and staying healthy.
Another of the outings my family was most looking forward to was, without a doubt, the visit to Monserrate. It was one of those places we simply couldn’t miss on our tours of Bogotá. From where we live, looking north, we can see the mountain and, in the distance, the tiny Monserrate church, almost as if it were winking at us from above.
And finally, the day arrived. We started getting ready early, this time bundled up well because the day had dawned rainy and very cold. But the weather wasn’t going to stop us from enjoying our family outing.
We took the funicular up the mountain, and for me, one of the most beautiful moments was seeing the look of wonder on my little nieces’ and nephews’ faces as the funicular made its way up the mountain on the tracks. Their curious eyes and that genuine excitement really touched my heart.
Like every Sunday, Monserrate was packed with people. Even so, as soon as we arrived, we took the opportunity to snap the usual photos—the ones that let us capture the moment and the breathtaking view of Bogotá in all its splendor and grandeur.
Around noon, the sun came out, but it was still quite cold. We walked, talked, enjoyed each other’s company, and, as always, collected little moments that eventually turn into great memories.
In the middle of the afternoon, we began our descent—this time by cable car—and you could already see the tired faces, both of the little ones and the grown-ups. But it was a tiredness filled with satisfaction because we’d enjoyed a beautiful day in Monserrate.
In the end, the photographs remained as the best memento of another day spent with the family.
