Good afternoon, fellow Hivers! I’m so glad to be back. It’s been a while since I last shared any of my sewing projects, but I’ve returned with a lovely garment, and I’m going to show you how I made it. The reason for my absence is that I ran into some complications—my refrigerator broke down, and I had to focus all my energy on getting it fixed. Once that was sorted out, I was finally able to buy some sewing supplies; it was such a relief, as I had been quite stressed. To my surprise, several of my clients placed orders for new pieces! For me, that’s more than just motivation—it’s the very reason I keep doing what I love: my work.

Paso nro 1
Step nro 1
I started by cutting the front section, breaking the pattern down into three parts to separate the colors; I’m using purple for the portion from the bust line down. I’m also cutting one sleeve in purple. I folded the pattern to cut the other section in lilac—it feels a bit like putting together a jigsaw puzzle! For the back, I’ll be using lilac, cutting that piece as a single, solid-colored section. For the cuffs, I cut one in lilac (to go with the lilac sleeve) and one in purple (for the purple sleeve). The bottom section will be entirely purple. Here are the pieces I’ve cut so far—just for the front.
Paso nro 2
Step nro 2
I’m starting by sewing the purple square to the lilac one, and then I sewed the top part of the front piece.
Paso nro 3
Step nro 3
Here you can see the shape of the front section, once the pieces have been sewn together.
Paso nro 4
Step nro 4
Now I will sew the front shoulder sections to the back section. Then, I will sew on the sleeves—both the lilac sleeve and the purple one.
Paso nro 5
Step nro 5
Then I sewed the sides from the sleeve down to the bottom. Here, I am going to sew the cuffs so I can fold them over and stitch them to the sleeves, and then I will sew the top and the collar to finish it off.
Resultado||Result
The result turned out better than I expected—two shades that go very well together, coming together to form a unique garment. I love things that are a bit different, as they help me create pieces that stand out from the ordinary. I hope you like my project, and with that, I wish you all the best—see you later!
