Good afternoon, Hive friends! ❤️ Today, I want to show you this charming red vest. I must confess, it’s one of the loveliest pieces I’ve made so far; I feel it will add a super cute and much more feminine touch to a dress I had commissioned. Unfortunately, I didn’t manage to take photos to show you how I made the dress, but what I will share with you today is the step-by-step process of how I crafted this vest. The result is absolutely worth it! 🧵✨

Paso nro 1
Step nro 1
First, I will cut the front piece, leaving a 2 cm gap in the center to allow for the openings, which I will then sew. Next, I will cut the back piece. I followed the same process for the sleeve: I folded the fabric in the direction of its stretch, positioned the pattern, and cut it out. I also folded the fabric for the collar and cut two identical pieces, as the collar is meant to be double-layered.
Paso nro 2
Step nro 2
Now I’ll start sewing the shoulders. After sewing the shoulders, I’ll sew the sleeves.
Paso nro 3
Step nro 3
Now I’m going to sew the collar—joining the two pieces together. Here you can see how it’s shaping up on the little bolero jacket.
Paso nro 4
Step nro 4
Once the neckline was finished, I sewed the sides, from the sleeves down to the bottom. Finally, I hemmed the sleeves and the bottom edge.

And so, this vest is finished; it can be worn over another garment, as it has no buttons or zipper. Here you can see how it looks paired with this dress—a very casual and comfortable ensemble... a truly versatile piece. It’s a pleasure for me to share my work with you; I hope you enjoy it... until next time!
