¡Qué vuele la inspiración! // Let inspiration soar!

"Understanding others through their own context and experience." That is a fundamental idea that our dear friend @emiliorios shares with us so that we can explore topics that not only delve into our intellect but also touch upon what we essentially express on a mental and emotional level. When it comes to the topic of “a representative object,” inspiration immediately begins to take flight, and I admit that with this phrase I’m already making clear what that goal has been—one that, in most cases, becomes the destination of my writing, forming a large part of the journey I’ve been able to take so far as a writer.

The image of a bird seems to be imprinted on everything I can put together and construct from my thoughts and imagination. In fact, the first thing that came to mind when I brought up this topic was the way my writing aligns with the characteristics of a bird. As a child, I never had a bird at home, and I don’t really recall any standout experience that would have prompted me to consider it as a starting point for my thoughts. The closest thing I can point to is that at some point in my life, I realized that for a bird, the sky is its true home, and that instead of showing my appreciation for them by keeping them in a cage, the best thing is to observe them in their natural state: free, full of life, and bringing melody and color to every place they happen to be.

I’ve never really thought of a specific favorite bird. Today I might think about how majestic an eagle can be, and later reflect on the delicacy of a tiny hummingbird. Something I do almost every day is scatter food crumbs in my backyard, and within minutes, several birds come to eat. At home, there are only three large trees where many birds gather daily, so in the afternoon I simply sit and listen to the great commotion they sometimes make, especially when rain is approaching. Thinking about birds gives me a great sense of confidence and security, as if, like them, I could fly with complete freedom.

In many of my writings, birds have played a prominent role, and I believe that the figure of a bird is present in some of my best stories. When I finished writing my book, I was considering the character option right up until the very last moment, and since it’s a work of fiction, I still see how a bird could take center stage in that fantastic story. Thinking carefully about the natural characteristics of a bird is often what provides that extra spark of inspiration I need to develop my ideas into a published work. Therefore, while it may not always be obvious, the truth is that behind my reflections and stories lie the wings of a bird that never tires of flying.

What makes me so certain of my choice is that there isn’t a single movie or song that refers to what I’m about to explain. As I mentioned earlier, there’s no story behind it, nor is it something instilled by lessons from the past. It’s as if, deep within my imagination, that bird nested there with great tenderness and learned to fly as I discovered my love for writing. I could say that the bird of my inspiration soars through the skies of creativity. Even when things don’t seem to fit together and when ideas seem to stall, suddenly the image of a bird emerges, bringing with it the conviction that there is still plenty of room to fly—and to discover. So, let inspiration take flight! And may the heart and soul merge into a vast firmament where that bird never stops dreaming and aiming for the highest heights.
