Greetings to everyone in the Lifestyle community. Today, I’m stopping by to share another day in my life with you. I want to tell you about the rehearsal we had with Canticum Merú this past Tuesday afternoon, as usual. We spent the session discussing the new repertoire we’ll be working on; the Christmas season is just a few months away, bringing with it *gaitas* and other traditional holiday songs sung all over the world. September is the perfect time to start rehearsing these pieces so that, when the time comes, we’ll be more than ready for our performances.
Saludos a todos en la comunidad de Lifestyle. El día de hoy me uno por aquí para compartir con ustedes un nuevo día en mi vida. En esta ocasión les quiero contar sobre el ensayo en Canticum Merú, el cual tuvimos este día martes a eso de la tarde, cómo de costumbre. Para ese día martes estuvimos hablando acerca del nuevo repertorio a trabajar y es que ya en unos meses estaremos entrando en la época de Navidad y se vienen todas las gaitas y demás canciones típicas de la festividad que se cantan a través de todo el mundo. Septiembre es el momento propicio para iniciar los ensayos de esas canciones para que llegada la fecha, estemos más que preparados para las presentanciones.
Speaking of performances, there are currently no confirmed events for Canticum Merú in September—largely due to the situation in our country—though you never know; something might still get scheduled. This is actually a good thing, as it allows us to work without any outside commitments interfering with our Christmas rehearsals. Besides, I don't think I’ve ever experienced a month where we didn't do *something* (haha). In the meantime, we’ve started with "La Hallaca," "Cantemos en Noche Buena," and other absolute classics.
It’s also a month of many changes. Soon, some of my fellow choir members will be traveling, while others are joining the group for the first time. It feels a bit strange, since you get used to a certain routine, but then again, life is full of change. I really enjoyed the rehearsal, and we’ll be able to share some of that work soon. A propósito de las presentaciones, actualmente para el mes de septiembre no hay eventos confirmados para Canticum Merú. Sobre todo por la situación de nuestro país, pero quién sabe, a veces se puede ver programado alguno. Eso es relevante en función de que podemos trabajar sin ningún compromiso que impida que sigamos ensayando el repertorio navideño. Y además, creo que nunca he estado en un mes donde no se haga algo (jajaja). Mientras tanto, nosotras empezamos con: La Hallaca, Cantemos en Noche Buena y otras más que son completamente quien dice, un clásico.
También estamos en un mes de muchos cambios. Pronto algunas compañeras se van de viaje y otras entran por primera vez al coro. Así que es algo un poco extraño porque uno se acostumbra a una cosa, pero bueno, la vida está hecha de cambios. Disfruté mucho del ensayo y pronto podremos mostrar algo de ese trabajo.
