Greetings to everyone in the Lifestyle community. Today I’m stopping by to share a new day in my life with you all. This past Saturday dawned quite clear, treating us to a beautiful morning sun that I truly enjoyed before starting my chores at home. However, around noon, the sky began to cloud over, and we realized we wouldn’t have the whole day to take photos as we’d planned. Going down to the river or nearby areas where the natural gardens of Puerto Ordaz are located wasn’t a very good option because when these frequent rains occur (for days on end), the rivers tend to overflow, the underbrush grows rapidly, the trail becomes unstable, and it’s also hard to spot wildlife. It’s risky. So we had to make some changes.
Saludos a todos en la comunidad de Lifestyle. El día de hoy me uno por aquí para compartir con ustedes un nuevo día en mi vida. En esta oportunidad, el día sábado se alzó con bastante claridad, entregándonos un bello sol de mañana que disfrute realmente antes de comenzar mis labores en casa. Sin embargo a eso de las 12 del mediodía todo comenzó a apagarse en el cielo y supimos que no íbamos a tener el día completo para hacer fotografías cómo habíamos planificado. Bajar al río o zonas cercanas dónde están los jardines naturales de Puerto Ordaz, no era muy buena opción pues cuando ocurren estas lluvias tan frecuentes (durante días y días) suelen desbordarse los ríos, la maleza crece rápidamente, se hace inestable el camino y además la fauna silvestre se hace difícil de percibir. Es un riesgo. Así que hubo cambios.
At 2 p.m., it started raining so hard that water began to seep into the house. We had to be careful to keep the water from reaching the areas of the floor where there are no tiles right now, because the water could seep through there, but fortunately, nothing like that happened. When the rain stopped, I took some time to rest. What you see there where the cats are is a toy of theirs—I attached a meter of yarn to it and tied it to a nail in the wall. I usually move that stuffed animal around the house so the cats can play and “hunt” it, but I think the method I just mentioned is more practical. By the way, one of the cats completely destroyed a painting I rescued a while back from the buildings downstairs. It was the “Autana of the Amazon.” It’s a shame because I liked it, and it ended up in terrible shape. That’s why I’m adding more toys for them to play with.
Wilfredo and I went out in the afternoon to buy some “savory” snacks and took advantage of the trip to walk Brandy. I didn’t walk Mía today because everything was really wet, and I didn’t think it was worth it. That makes me feel guilty because I always try to treat everyone at home the same. It’s been a quiet weekend; I’m continuing to make progress on what I need to do, and soon everything will be better. Although there are some things you just can’t forget. A las 2 de la tarde comenzó a llover tan fuerte que el agua también empezó a entrar a la casa. Tuvimos que tener cuidado de que el agua no llegara a las zonas del suelo dónde ahora no hay baldosas porque se podía filtrar el agua por allí, pero afortunadamente no sucedió nada de eso. Cuando paso la lluvia, me di un tiempo para descansar. Eso que ven allí donde están los gatos es un juguete que ellos tienen al cual le coloque un metro de estambre y lo ate a un clave que estaba en la pared. Usualmente yo muevo ese peluche por toda la casa para que los gatos jueguen y "cacen" al animalito, pero creo que es más practica la última forma que comente. Por cierto, uno de los gatos destrozó por completo un cuadro que rescate hace un tiempo en los edificios de abajo. Era el Autana del Amazonas. Es una lastima porque me gustaba y terminó peor. He allí la razón de añadir más juguetes a la disposición de ellos.
Wilfredo y yo salimos en la tarde a comprar algo de "salado" y aprovechamos e viaje para pasear a Brandy. Hoy no paseo Mía porque realmente estaba muy mojado todo y creo que no valía la pena. Lo que me deja con remordimiento porque siempre intento que las cosas sean igual para todos en casa. Ha sido un fin de semana tranquilo, sigo avanzando en lo que necesito y pronto todo estará mejor. Aunque hay cosas que no se pueden olvidar. Sin más que decir muchísimas gracias por pasar por aquí.
