Greetings to everyone in the Lifestyle community. Today I’m joining you here to share a new day in my life with you. This time, I’d like to share a bit about my Monday; since it’s already September, I’d also like to share some reflections I have on the past month of August. Join me.
I wish that popular saying, “Everything happens for a reason,” weren’t so deeply ingrained in our cultural heritage. I truly believe that many things should never have happened, and surely on more than one occasion, we’ve had the chance to change the course of certain events. Things that, of course, aren’t due to chance, the forces of nature, or other such factors. I also find the idea a bit fatalistic that if something bad happens to us, it’s because that’s just the way it’s meant to be, and we must accept it with complete solemnity. I’m not saying that one can’t see the “glass half full” (a saying that, well…), but optimism can’t be approached from such a strange perspective. Or at least not twisted that way, because, in fact, there are moments that do warrant intervention, attention, and resolution. And that also has to do with how rational one is in the face of circumstances.

Just around this time, I was also reading a quote by Thomas Aquinas, which says: “Anyone who does not get angry when there is a just cause for anger is immoral. For anger seeks the good of justice, and if you can live in the midst of injustice without anger, you are immoral as well as unjust.” It seems to me that he illustrates very well what I’m trying to say. We cannot be so indifferent to everything and everyone, all the time. I’m sharing all this in relation to some things that have happened to me over the past few months, and particularly this past August. People seem to be more outraged by the reaction you might have to an unjust act than by the act itself.
And this isn’t directed at anyone or anything in particular, because, as I said, there have been several incidents, and it’s simply a general observation I’m sharing here. Fortunately, I see that, little by little, many people are beginning to wake up and become aware of just how much we’re actually capable of doing and how we can avoid going through so much pain. I believe this is a pivotal moment for humanity, since changes have already taken place on our planet, and it’s important to understand the power we hold in our hands. Let’s not let that slip away. Finally, my friends, thank you for stopping by. Warm regards.
