Greetings to everyone in the Lifestyle community. Today I’m joining you here to share a new chapter in my life with you. This time, I want to tell you about my reunion with my friends from the University of Carabobo—whom I hadn’t seen in at least four years—which turned out to be a truly beautiful day.
For this trip to Valencia, I was determined to visit my friends, because in previous years I hadn’t been able to since I was focused on taking care of my mom and my family in general. Time went by, and I only heard from them during the few times we spoke and shared some news or interesting tidbits from the month. It’s not easy to stay in touch these days, and it’s ironic because this is precisely when we have the most means to do so. But then again, there’s also the fact that we’re all working, and on top of that, we live really far apart from one another. We had planned this outing in advance and went to a place called Mordiscos at the Nautilus.
We arrived at almost the same time, and it was so wonderful to see them again. I tell them they look exactly the same—and in fact, the vast majority of my friends look exactly the same—but of course there are bound to be a few changes here and there; still, I still see them as they’ve always been. We sat down, and my friend Kisbelys started pulling out gifts for everyone, and I felt like it was Christmas. Then Raúl started pulling out gifts for everyone too, and suddenly I realized I hadn’t been the only one to think of it, because I handed out mine as well. We’re all teachers and we have the arts in our blood, so the gifts couldn’t be anything other than pieces each of us had created ourselves. This is the first time anyone has given me a piece of art as a gift, and well, it was really, really beautiful. We talked and laughed so much that I thought they were going to kick us out at any moment, hahaha.
It was a really warm day, and I think we all needed to get together and talk—to spend some time doing something different—and, well, we also have a lot in common. When we left the place, we took that photo session you see at the beginning, which was taken by my friend Raúl Dumont. By the way, we left really late, but my friend Carolina gave me a ride to the bus stop closest to my house… And thank goodness, because the streets were pretty deserted. I’ll cherish all of this and keep it in my heart. Thanks, friends, and thanks to all of you for stopping by.
