Sint-Truiden vs Union SG
Sint-Truiden is a team who are expected to do much worse comapred to last season and as a smaller team suffer from the extra Eureopean matches. However, so far they have been pretty ok and kind of continue their good way of last season with their 2nd coach taking over. They were kind of pushed back at home in the first match against Lommel while getting the better chances and got 0-1 behind which is where the match changed as the visitors crawled back. They could have won that one but it stayed at a 1-1 score at the end. Away against Cercle Brugge it was a match with poor defending and high efficiency on both sides ending in a 3-3 draw score where each time they took the lead they crawled back. At home agains Omonia it was a match where both kind of settled for a 0-0 score not taking any risk and where they were fortunate to score the late 1-0. This however was not enough to stay in the Europa League as they lost away with a 4-2 score. In that match they showed just not to be good enough and it again showed that their defense is not a lock. The 1-4 away score last weekend against Antwerp was exagerrated and my notes say that Stvv just isn't good enough of a team against good opponents. So overall I haven't really seen a single performance that really stands out in the positive way from them and I'm kind of looking to oppose them. Union started the season not really that covincing even though they won the super cup and it at times kind of felt that this was going to be the year they were not going to be able to keep up the pattern of being able to replace the many players who leave each year. However, last weekend kind of out of nowhere, they put up a really good performance at home against Anderlecht and it kind of feels like they are fully back and ready to dominate with their known style. So for today, I kind of see a match where Union will be the dominant and better team taking the straightforward win. The odds also feel very much worth the risk as I wouldn't have been surprised if the away win odds were set more around the 1.65-1.80 range. I pretty much expect Union to be motivated to bring the same as they showed against Anderlecht trying to push stvv back from the start and make the difference early. I took 0.303 units on
