I skipped on the Champions League preview as I didn't really have any clear view on that match. Kv Mechelen vs Anderlecht
Mechelen last season was a team that overperformed but are now back to reality with a very difficult start of the season simply not bringing enough yet. To say more, it actually has been really bad and they for me have the worst overall performance score in the first 5 weeks. There was some glimmer of hope in the away match against La Louviere during week 4, but that was kind of crushed last week with their worst performance yet at home against Westerlo where they were absolutely nowhere. Their numbers are also quite bad but mixed with 3 times under 0.35xg created and twice over 2.10. When it comes down to giving chances away though, they are in each match well above 1. They lost some key players and have quite some injuries which doesn't help them and after the 2 on 15, their coach now is under heavy fire. So Mechelen at this point is a team on my list to possibly oppose and there is no way I would concider a pre-game bet on them now. Anderlecht started the season good in Europe showing a lot of pressing and willpower but also kind of fell flat a bit only taking 2 wins with just 1 goal margin against 2 relegatuon candidates, 2 losses, and a draw. They are currently in progress of fitting in a lot of new players and that remains somewhat of a question mark. Last week at home against Genk, it ended in a 0-0 draw in a match where they did manage to be the better team with more drive but failed to score with Genk Goalkeeper as the man of the match in otherwise a low xg match. So the question today is if I'm willing to oppose Mechelen at home and back Anderlecht and at what price. I did think about it earlier this week at 1.96 odds on the FT -0.5 line and 2.0 odds on the 1H -0.25 but I could not pull the trigger. By now the odds have come down a bit which makes it even harder. The thing in this match is that a clean with with multiple goals for Anderlecht and another poor performance collapse would not be a surprise, but neither would be that KV Mechelen at home takes a draw or better. It would be more of a surprise for me if Mechelen started the match full forward and I kind of expect them to focus first on the defense in the hope to take the lead on a counter. The only bet that I'm somewhat comfortable with in this match is 0.2 units on
1st Half Under 1.25 @ 1.840.
