Description
No long run today, as the weather is forecast to be a bit grim as both Storm Austin and then Storm Boelo are due to roll through today. Although are due to avoid the worst of it here in the Midlands, there still plenty of prolonged heavy rain and strong winds to contend with
Besides, I had other plans. My Dad had a hernia operation yesterday, so I popped round this morning to see how he was doing. The op itself wasn't only a minor one with local anaesthetic, and other than some soreness, he feels ok. I brought some stronger pain killers round with me as he was complaining the pain disrupted his sleep last night
Lola
Due to the nature of the procedure, he is not allowed to do any driving, or heavy lifting for the next 2 weeks, so the other reason to visit him was to check he didn't need anything else doing. It did give me an excuse to see his dog Lola, and while here I took her out for a long walk, so that he can just do a short one later in the day
After the walk, it was time for me to head into town. My partner was working today, and after finishing work she was going to go food shopping. I usually go with her, so today I decided to meet her at the supermarket straight after work, so we could get the shopping done (and save her either doing it on her own, or having to drive home and pick me up, before heading back into town again
I was prepared for rain on my walk, but the weather seemed to ease of a little as I made my way into town. Turned out to be quite a pleasant walk in the end!
Lincoln High Street
Picking up lunch from Greggs - a tasty mexicana cheese, chicken and jalapeno baguette (I always buy the same one!)
I arrived at Morrisons at 2pm, just in time to meet my partner who had just finished her shift (and just in time to beat the rain!)
By the time we finished shopping and heading back to the car, the heavens had opened, and the wind had picked up.
Now safely at home, I've battened down the hatches (and popped the heating on!) while the storm rages outside
Tomorrow the rain should ease, but it will still be blustery. I'll be heading back round to Dad's to take Lola out for another lunchtime walk, and I'll probably manage a medium-ish run as well... probably!

About Me
Living in the UK, I am an intermittent Runner, but always striving for more consistency. When I'm not training I can be found photographing insects or listening to really loud angry music (which is the best type of music obviously!)
