Measurements Used Shoulder: 10 inches Bust: 23 inches Waist: 22 inches Full length: 24 inches
Step 1: Cutting the Bodice Fold your lace fabric into two. You will cut both front and back together. Bodice length: 10 inches (half of full length or desired bodice length). Shoulder: Divide 10 ÷ 2 = 5 inches. Neckline: Front: Width 2.5", Depth 3" Back: Width 2.5", Depth 1" Armhole: Measure 5 inches down from shoulder. Bust line: Bust ÷ 4 = 23 ÷ 4 = 5.75 + 1 inch ease = 6.75 inches Waist line: Waist ÷ 4 = 22 ÷ 4 = 5.5 + 1 inch ease = 6.5 inches Shape the armhole and connect bust to waist with a slight curve. Cut out. Repeat the same for lining.
Step 2: Cutting the Sleeves Use lace fabric
Sleeve length: 5 inches (as seen in picture) Fold fabric and cut a simple short sleeve shape Sleeve round: about 8 inches
Step 3: Cutting the Skirt (Full Flare) The skirt is gathered and layered. Lace Skirt: Length: Full length (24") – bodice length (10) = 14 inches Width: Use full width of fabric or 2× waist for fullness Lining Skirt: Same as lace but slightly shorter (12–13 inches) Net Layers: Cut 2–3 layers of soft net same width but slightly longer for puff effect Cut hard net slightly shorter to give structure
Step 4: Sewing the Bodice Join shoulder seams (lace and lining separately). Sew neckline neatly (turning method or piping). Attach sleeves to armholes. Sew side seams. Join lace and lining together at neckline and sleeve edges for neat finishing.
Step 5: Preparing the Skirt Gather the top of lace skirt to match waist size. Do same for lining and net layers. Layer them: lining inside, net in middle, lace on top. Sew all layers together at waistline.
