The photo was taken on a walk in the district called Comuna 13 in the city of Medellin, Colombia. As you might be able to see, the houses are buildt on a hillside. The area therefore is mostly only accesible on foot. It seems the houses are hanging on to the mountainside. There are many narrow staircases that you have to climb in order to get to the top. The area is especially known because it was the most dangerous neighborhood only a few decades ago. Controlled by drug cartels it was known as a violent place.
