¡Hola amigos lectores!

Hello, readers! I'm continuing my re-read of the Acotar series, and this time I'm bringing you my review of the third book: A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas.

In this third installment, Feyre faces the Spring Court once again, but this time with the mission of gathering intelligence on the impending war with Hybern. While her sisters adjust to their new lives as fae, war is imminent, and Feyre—along with Rhysand and her friends—must recruit powerful allies to have any chance of winning and surviving. Even if that means making deals with dangerous entities from outside that world.

I tried not to give too much of the plot away for those of you who want to start reading these books. Well, you know that my favorite is the second book, followed by the fifth, which introduces a whole new cast of characters. However, upon rereading it, I realized that this was a very good concluding book at the time, because—as I’m sure you remember—the story was originally intended to be a trilogy, but later the possibility of continuing it opened up.

So everything feels much more rushed because the conflict with Hybern and the war had to reach a point of no return, and most of the loose ends had to be tied up. That’s why it can feel a little overwhelming when so many things are happening all at once. I’m also really surprised that a single kingdom almost managed to wipe out the other courts—seven in total. I mean, it’s no use having all that power and ancient magic if the other side has a super army ready to advance. And that’s without any other fae kingdoms getting involved—which makes me question the plot planning a bit. But whatever, we’ll let it slide. In the end, the king of Hybern wasn't really a worthy villain either, because it was actually pretty easy to defeat him. I think the real weapon was the Cauldron, and the human queens turned out to be more threatening—especially one of them.

The story is captivating, with plenty of situations that drive the plot twists, and there are even some very romantic moments, new couples to ship, and the occasional tear here and there. Especially during the final battle, which is very nerve-wracking. I’m worried that the inner circle of the Night Court is still intact and that no character who is truly beloved and important to future storylines has died, so I’m afraid of what this author might have planned for the future.

Anyway, for now, I recommend you read the series. I'm halfway through rereading the fifth book, and the sixth one was officially released this week. So I'll try to get it soon so I can continue with this story that has me hooked.
