Escribo esta publicación después de ver una película llamada Predestinación, cuyo tema central gira en torno a los viajes en el tiempo, lo cual coincide con mi idea de hablarles sobre cómo la música nos permite viajar en el tiempo de una forma fantástica.
El sábado 10 de octubre tuve la oportunidad de asistir a un evento musical a cargo de la Coral Polifónica de Oriente, en un concierto aniversario por sus diecisiete años de actividad ininterrumpida.
Parece mentira lo rápido que pasa el tiempo desde aquel día en que el sueño de tres amigos de crear un coro se hizo realidad. Aunque ya no formo parte activa de esta organización, siempre recordaré ese día con mucho cariño, porque allí estuve.
Recibí la entrada como un obsequio de una amiga coralista, quien tuvo ese lindo detalle conmigo. Así que, ¿cómo faltar a este encuentro con semejante gesto?
I am writing this post after watching a movie called Predestination, whose central theme revolves around time travel. This tied in perfectly with my idea of talking to you about how music allows us to travel through time in a fantastic way.
On Saturday, October 10th, I had the opportunity to attend a musical event by the Coral Polifónica de Oriente, a concert celebrating their seventeen years of uninterrupted activity.
It seems unbelievable how fast time flies since that day when the dream of three friends to create a choir became a reality. Although I am no longer an active member of this organization, I will always remember that day with great affection because I was there.
I received the ticket as a gift from a choir friend who had that lovely gesture with me. So, how could I miss this gathering after such a thoughtful detail?
El concierto se llevó a cabo en el Restaurante Los Asadores de la ciudad de Lechería, Anzoátegui. Les cuento que ese día llovió, pero eso no fue impedimento para que estuviera a tiempo en el lugar acordado.
El tema: nada más y nada menos que los años 80, mi época musical favorita. Las canciones estuvieron llenas de nostalgia; recordando tantas vivencias con estos temas viajé al pasado y fue maravilloso. Fue un repertorio perfectamente seleccionado.
También tuve la oportunidad de coincidir con bellas amistades que la música me ha regalado. El público coreó todas las canciones y muchos «jóvenes» de los ochenta estuvimos presentes (lol).
Las pantallas dispuestas mostraban imágenes del pasado, así que ver a íconos de la música de esa época fue muy emotivo.
Sí, viajé en el tiempo —¡gracias a la música!— y me encantó.
The concert took place at Los Asadores Restaurant in the city of Lechería, Anzoátegui. I'll tell you that it rained that day, but that didn't stop me from being on time at the agreed location.
The theme: nothing more and nothing less than the 80s, my favorite musical era. The songs were full of nostalgia; remembering so many memories with these tracks, I traveled back in time and it was wonderful. It was a perfectly selected repertoire.
I also had the chance to catch up with beautiful friends that music has given me. The audience sang along to every song, and many 80s "youths" were present (lol).
The screens set up displayed images from the past, so seeing music icons from that era was very moving.
Yes, I traveled through time —thanks to music!— and I loved it.
