Last time we went to look for our family with healer Anca. We only found a body of a soldier who served Brencis(vampire ruler). Anca knew a way to get information even from a corpse. She introduced Coen to another power called witchcraft. This power let us communicate with the dead and even question the soldier's corpse. It told us that Brencis minions have taken Coen's family to the castle where they will be killed during his coronation. In other words we have thirty days and thirty nights to save them. Coen wanted to rush to fight Brencis but Anca advised us to take our time preparing and finding allies. After that we and Anca went to clear a path out of the village. It took very long and time and the night came. With it Coen turned into vampire once again. Luckily this time Coen had plently of health. Otherwise he would likely have drained and killed Anca despite of her being our friend/ romantic interest.
This time we lowered the game difficulty to the lowest option. Even on a bit harder difficulty I was getting beaten all the time. I think that my reaction time is not good enough for higher difficulties. This time we went to the mill hopping that miller will help us contact remaining rebels. But the miller's wife told us that he was taken by soldiers to some place called Stoneward Post.
After that we started destroying the influence of one of the Brencis generals. We decided to target general Ambrus first. So for now we focused on interrupting and destroying his operations. We found a few well guarded camps. Each of those camps had like seven to ten soldiers. This made me really glad that I lowered the difficulty. Because on higher difficulty I was getting destroyed even against just three enemies. For me even the lowest difficulty feels quite challenging but doable. A bit harder difficulty seemed nearly impossible. I believe that I spent like a hour+ just trying to beat some three average bastards. Also while looking for a side quest we accidentally met a merchant who claimed to know our father Pieter and even be his trusted alcohol supplier. This surprised Coen because to his knowledge his father was never a heavy drinker. But the merchant suggested that that our dad may have had some secret friends with whom he was sharing the drinks. We will have to investigate that in the future. Also the merchant was very skeptical about our chances of saving our family and deathroning Brencis. I guess we will just have to prove him wrong...I just hope that we will succeed in time. After talking to a merchant we run into a strange crocodile/ worm looking creature. He seemed too strong even on the lowest difficulty so we let him be. For now at least...
Then we found some soldiers who were guarding another barrel. We killed the soldiers and opened the barrel inside it we found...an idiot. His name was Klaus ,,the Brave''. This fool wanted to infiltrate general Ambrus blood cellars. He believed that this will let join the rebels. He was not a worrior and had no weapon. So if Coen who was trained by his father( who was a former mercinary) and has even been turned into vampire can be killed by three random thugs(partly because I am not good at combat) this Klaus would be slaughtered. So we explained this to Klaus in a nicest way possible- we told him that he is a moron and that if he wants to live he needs to get the hell away and leave this vampire fighting business to us. After all it takes a monster to fight a monster. It seems that Klaus had enought brain cells to understant that Coen is telling the truth. So it probably means that this fool will live another day. For better or for worse.
Then we went to Stoneward Post and rescued the miller. To do that we had to defeat a small army of Brencis soldiers. Also before we freed the miller he told us that he betrayed one of rebels to Brencis soldiers. But we still have a chance to save her. I wanted to keep playing but then I got interrupted. To this point game was running really well(on low settings). But at this point the game just froze for me. I have no idea why. I tried solving this problem and I really hope that I will be able to continue playing smoothly. It is (bloody) awesome game. And it would be damn shame if it would keep freezing in the future...
