The Russia–Georgia Friendship Monument or Treaty of Georgievsk Monument is a monument built in 1983 to celebrate the bicentennial of the Treaty of Georgievsk and the ongoing friendship between Soviet Georgia and Soviet Russia. Located on the Georgian Military Highway between the ski resort town of Gudauri and the Jvari pass, the monument is a large round stone and concrete structure overlooking the Devil's Valley in the Caucasus Mountains. Inside the monument is a large tile mural that spans the whole circumference of the structure and depicts scenes of Georgian and Russian history.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russia%E2%80%93Georgia_Friendship_Monument

Our tour guide told us that our last stop was one of the famous tourist spots that perched overlooking the Devil's Valley in the Caucasus Mountains. I was so excited to hear our guide talk about this stunning place. I couldn’t wait to see it with my own eyes. It would take an hour to reach the area so I kept myself entertained by taking pictures along the way. I enjoyed seeing the snow covered mountains and the bare trees that created a beautiful winter scene. The sun was hazily visible. It glowed through a thick layer of clouds adding a mysterious and peaceful feeling to the surroundings.

When we arrived at the place I was immediately amazed by the majestic mountains covered with snow. The view was truly breathtaking and I felt so happy that we had the chance to visit this wonderful place with my husband. Looking at the mountains I could hardly believe how beautiful the scenery was. We didn't want to waste any time, so we immediately climbed up to the monument, eager to get a closer look and enjoy the amazing views from above.

One of the things I really loved was the view below the monument. We saw a small lake surrounded by snowy mountains. It was such a gorgeous sight. The water looked tranquil against the white snow and the rocky mountain slopes. I found myself staring at it for a while trying to take in the whole view. It was one of those moments when you don't need to say much because the beauty in front of you speaks for itself.

Of course, we also took time to appreciate the monument itself. The Russia–Georgia Friendship Monument is a big round edifice and adorned with colorful mosaics that signify historical and cultural themes connected with Georgia and Russia. Its unique pattern makes it stand out against the surrounding mountains. Our tour guide told us that this monument was erected in 1983 to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the Treaty of Georgievsk signed in 1783 between the Russian Empire and the Kingdom of Georgia, the monument stands as a testament to a pivotal moment in the shared history of the two nations.

We were also happy to have drone videos and pictures taken during our visit. It was such an exciting experience because we could see the monument and the beautiful snow covered mountains from a different angle. We paid 30 GEL (around 11 USD) for the drone shots and I think it was worth it because the results were amazing. It allowed us to see the monument and the surrounding mountains from a completely different perspective and preserved our memories of this unforgettable destination.
