Between Tides and Dreams: Do You Catch the Wave or Wait?

It's my first time writing here. As much as I'd really love to visit all the communities, my schedule won't allow me to. So let me try today with @riverflows Ocean Lovers.

Am I an ocean lover? Definitely.

Image_20260724122009_606_3.jpg Here's a picture from a morning walk in Boracay, Philippines. We went there like two weeks ago during my break. It was really quick coz a strong typhoon was chasing us!

Ocean

I always say I'm terrified of the ocean... what's beneath it, and how easily the waves can take lives. Yet, what a waste of time it would be not to dip into that crystal clear blue water! So, I completely understand why so many people fall in love with it. I, too, am fascinated by the sand, the calming sound of the water, the salty breeze, and the breathtaking view of sunrises and sunsets...we truly don't deserve this world.

Speaking of the ocean bringing peace, my own mind isn't always so quiet...

Troubles

Bill Hader's reaction is basically how my friends used to react whenever I said something unhinged and unfiltered. They’d quickly cover my mouth and change the topic before it got us into trouble!

which is my other nickname btw.. Unhinged.gif

As we grow older, we kind of avoid it. Drama. Although I am an advocate of not suppressing emotions, petty drama and just releasing a burden are two completely different things. How heavy it is to listen to some people's drama just made me realize how much help we need, and that we should actually give room for it. We have to create a safe space where we can release our negative energy without inflicting it on others, because that's the only way we will feel better, And yes, I know what you're thinking. The best place for all of that is the ocean. Just pour it in... some emotions feel impossibly heavy, but we all know the power of water, yeah?

Energy

The ocean offers energetic reset.

You can receive purifying, grounding, and unbounded spiritual energy while walking barefoot on the sand. That's why.. well, maybe not everyone, but most people, choose the beach to unwind after a hectic schedule or a period of grieving.

Femininity and Nature

Yes, Mother Earth embodies divine feminine energy. She can be soft, calm, and breezy one moment, and then wreak havoc the next with eruptions, earthquakes, and hurricanes, only to return to calm like nothing even happened.

That's basically how you understand women, feminine energy, and Mother Earth.

Dreams

So, this was the view from our hotel room’s veranda. Hotels in Boracay are highway robbers, I swear! Although, I feel like it was totally worth it to wake up to this view every morning while watching the sunrise and sunset without having to go down to the crowded beach. It kinda reminded me to work harder. If you want to keep waking up to this kind of view... girl, move!

So yeah, let's keep chasing our dreams!

That's all from me. I have a bit of pain in my right shoulder blade, likely from how I slept. On the bright side, I've been sleeping like a baby, which makes me really happy! My body is just reminding me to stay active despite the busy schedule,

So, I'm doing some Pilates before lunch!

How are you capping off the weekend?

Ellie 💕

Aah, the beauty of the beach! Seeing this made me realize it's been 8 months since our last beach fun.

Love this. And I couldn't agree more :)

All the best as you chase your dreams😍

PS. Hope your shoulder is better now.

I'm sorry about your shoulder pain but as I got to this so late, I'm sure you're much better!

The ocean is indeed feminine isn't she? In some ways though that's terribly sad as we extend that analogy to the rape of the oceans - and how she swallows all that we give her, oil slicks, sunblock, sewerage. Still, she can rage - and I think we ignore her at much peril. Dark maybe, that's my mood today!

I appreciate you writing this so much - it's very kind.

SANAOL nakapagBORA! 😍 A morning walk there already sounds dreamy. But the detail about a typhoon chasing you adds this unexpected twist, like nature reminding you how fleeting calm moments can be.
