Hi Music Friends, It's Tuesday again, my favorite day of the week, coz i get to share music with you, sit down and talk.

It's already September, where did the time go?

So today I am rocking away the blues. I have been seeing a lot of global friends making jokes about us Filos celebrating Christmas as early as September and you know we are not lying.

So, for some of you who are curious about Jose Mari Chan ..because I know you have been hearing his nam... he is the Father Christmas of the Philippines. I'm just kidding. He is a famous musician, and he composes most of the Christmas carols you hear in malls, yep, as early as September. So Christmas decorations are up and his songs are in the background.. it's actually my favorite time of the year!

Part of this inside joke is the fact that Filipinos have always been resilient. Given the natural disasters we always experience before Christmas.. volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, typhoons (which are stronger during the "ber" months), you name it... we have countless reasons to be sad but choose to be festive instead.

Today I am not sharing a JMC song tho. I am going with Muse for this week's #ThreeTuneTuesday. Should I post about him next week? Would you like to hear his songs? Let me know!

Starlight - Muse

It is one of their hit songs. What makes it iconic is the bright piano intro, it was recorded using a unique studio trick, they layered two different pianos playing in completely different octaves.

Can't exactly imagine how they managed to make it sound like a synthesizer, but it is certainly a piano. I should know.

Can't Take My Eyes Off You - Muse

It's a crowd favorite...

Talking about electrifying .. Muse is actually famous for songs that make you feel electrocuted, in a good way ov course.

I roll my eyes when people find this song romantic. It is dark. This song is actually about obsession and heavy stalking .. the kind that makes your skin crawl with an I know where you live kind of cringe. Don't mind the lyrics and just enjoy the vibe and their guitar skills.

Next,

Supermassive Blackhole

My original pick would be Hysteria..god, I love the bass intro of that song .. but I am really compelled to say something about this song... well, not really the song, but the title itself.

Being in a supermassive black hole doesn't actually feel giddy like this song.. it's different. Last month has been hard, and I'm glad I'm slowly finding my way out of that. Last week I had a good conversation with a few people here who are also experiencing the same thing, and to tell you, if you're empathic... it's kind of comforting and draining.

It's so hard to actually listen while knowing you're going through the same thing. Some are just too much.. can't even bring myself to comment, comfort, and encourage, simply because I was empty too.

One day you're okay, then you'll find yourself crying again the next. Suddenly it's dark again, it's heavy again.

The thing about being in a dark place is that it's like a cycle... and sadly, this shit has a list of its favorites.
