Hello, dear internet folks! How are you? It's no secret how much I love collecting, so I'm super happy because I finally completed the SpongeBob x One Piece collection that McDonald's gave away. I loved every single figure, and I'd love to share them with you. I hope you like them!
In this collection, the SpongeBob characters are combined with the One Piece characters, and since I've been a fan of both series since I was a kid, I really liked this mix of characters. I really enjoyed seeing, for example, SpongeBob fused with Luffy or Sandy with Nami... even though the figures are a bit flat, I love every detail, and it’s interesting because each one comes with a base shaped like a ship, which can rock back and forth to give the impression that the figure is actually sailing.
One detail that really caught my eye was the little cardboard box: it has a wood-grain design, and the illustrations on the lid are great. This time, getting the figures was pretty easy (even though the collection sold out quickly and didn't last long compared to the previous one) because I have three McDonald's near my house. On my first try, I bought three boxes and got Patrick, Gary, and Squidward. Since not all the characters had arrived yet (including SpongeBob), I decided to wait a few days to try my luck again.
I went back two days ago. They already had all the models on display, but since I’d waited a few days, many were already sold out. Even so, I managed to get three more: Pearl, Mr Krabs, and Mrs. Puff, so I left happy because I already had half of them!. Seeing that they were selling out fast, yesterday I went with my mom to another location to get the figures I was missing in my quest to complete my collection, and my mom and I ended up eating six Happy Meals! But I left very happy because I had time to get all 12 figures that were released in my country 😄.
This is the fourth complete collection I've bought at McDonald's, and honestly, I was blown away by it. It brings together two series that mean so much to me, and even though the style of the figures is different from previous collections, I absolutely loved the result. If you look closely, SpongeBob is the only one without a box… and there’s a story behind that! It had sold out at that location too, but I managed to convince the manager to give me the one from the display case! That’s why he’ll be the only character sitting out on its own in my living room, hahaha.
