Hi, my dear internet folks! How are you all? Today I want to share with you one of my favorite albums of the year: Olivia Rodrigo’s new album, titled “you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love” which came out a few months ago and is truly amazing!
Hola, mi gente querida de internet! Como están? Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes un álbum que es de mis favoritos de este año, se trata del nuevo disco de Olivia Rodrigo titulado "you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love" el cual salió hace unos meses y de verdad está increíble!.
Olivia has been one of my favorite singers since she first started out, but this album has a very special meaning for me because it came out during a somewhat difficult time in my life, and these new songs were very comforting to me. The first single was “Drop Dead,” a romantic song about how overwhelming and intense it can be to connect with someone for the first time. I related to this song right from the start because when it came out, I was going through something like that, though it didn’t last long, hahaha. As a collector, I loved getting the single on CD and 7-inch vinyl.
Olivia ha sido una de mis cantantes favoritas desde sus inicios pero, este disco tiene un significado bastante especial para mí ya que llegó en un momento de mi vida un poco complicado y, estas nuevas canciones fueron muy reconfortantes para mí. El primer single fue "Drop Dead" la cual es una canción romántica, que habla sobre lo abrumador el intenso que puede ser conectar con alguien por primera vez. Desde el principio me sentí identificada con esta canción porque cuando salió estaba pasando por algo así, aunque eso no me duró mucho jajaja. Como coleccionista, amé conseguir el single en formato CD y Vinilo de 7 pulgadas.
Another one of my favorite songs from the album is “Stupid Song,” which talks about love in such an intense way that it’s impossible to describe. I also related to it because it perfectly describes the love I dared to feel for someone that didn’t last and well… I’d say that even though I wanted this person “more than any stupid song can explain,” today I’m glad it’s over. Of course, that doesn’t mean this song isn’t one of my favorites on the album.
Otra de mis canciones favoritas del disco es "Stupid Song" la cual habla del amor de una manera tan intensa que es imposible describirlo, también me sentí identificada con ella porque describe perfectamente el amor que me atreví a sentir por alguien que, no duró y bueno...diría que aunque deseé a esta persona "más de lo que cualquier canción estupida puede explicar" hoy en día estoy contenta de que eso terminó. Claro, eso no quita que esta canción sea de mis favoritas del disco.
Musically speaking, I’d say I liked the whole album overall, since the mix of instruments and synthesizers gives it a 2000s vibe that makes the songs quite catchy and contrasts perfectly with Olivia’s vocal range. In my opinion, she manages to convey the message of each song honestly, and the way she uses her voice also gives it a heart-wrenching tone, even though they’re “romantic” songs. Although I’ve liked Olivia’s albums since her first one, I’d say this one is the most personal to me because, just like her, I also seemed “pretty sad for a girl so in love” but that’s another story, hahaha. As part of my collection, I was thrilled to get two CD editions: one autographed and another special edition from Target. I really loved the artwork in general, pictures and the colors used. I truly commend Olivia for giving us this work of art; it’s been a pleasure to share it with you all.
A nivel musical, diría que me gustó todo el disco a nivel general ya que la mezcla de instrumentos y sintetizadores le da una vibra dosmilera que hace que las canciones sean bastante pegadizas y contraste perfectamente con la capacidad vocal de Olivia, la cual a mi parecer logra transmitir el mensaje de cada canción de manera honesta y la manera en la que utiliza su voz también le da un tono desgarrador a pesar de ser canciones "románticas". Aunque me han gustado los discos de Olivia desde el primero, diría que este es el más personal para mí ya que al igual que ella, yo también parecía "muy triste para una chica tan enamorada" pero esa ya es otra historia jajaja. A nivel de colección, me encantó conseguir 2 ediciones en CD: una autografiada y otra edición especial de Target. Realmente me encantó el arte en general, fotografías y colores utilizados. De verdad felicito a Olivia por habernos regalado esta obra de arte, ha sido un placer compartirlo con ustedes.
