Sometimes, you have everything figured out. You have your plans, your goals, your expectations, and you think you know exactly where you are heading. Then suddenly, something happens and everything changes.
You lose an opportunity, something you worked hard for doesn't work out. Someone you trusted disappoints you, a relationship ends, money gets tight, or maybe you simply get tired of trying to keep everything together.
And just like that, you find yourself on the floor wondering, “What now?” I think we put too much pressure on ourselves to get back up immediately.
We hear a lot about being strong, never giving up, pushing through, and getting back on our feet. And yes, sometimes we do need that encouragement. But honestly, there are moments when you just don't have the energy to stand up.
And that is okay, If you fall, you don't necessarily have to rush to your feet. Maybe you can sit there for a while, take a breath, think about what happened. Look around and see if there is anything from that experience worth keeping.
Maybe you learned something about yourself, you learned to be more careful about who you trust, you discovered that the thing you thought you needed wasn't actually meant for you. Or maybe you simply realized that you are stronger than you thought, even though you don't feel strong right now.
And sometimes, there is nothing to pick up immediately, you might be just tired, So rest.
I know that can sound strange because we are constantly being told to keep moving. Everyone seems to be busy. Someone else is starting a business, getting married, buying a house, travelling, making money, achieving something and when you look at your own life, you may feel like you are standing still.
But life isn't a race, you don't have to recover at someone else's speed. If you need a few days, take them. If you need to talk to someone, talk. If you need some quiet time, take that space. And if all you can manage today is getting through the day, then maybe that's enough for today.
There will be another day to try again. What matters is that you don't convince yourself that one bad season is the whole story of your life.
You fell, so what? You can rest there for a little while, you can learn from what happened, you can gather yourself slowly. And when you are ready, you can get back up.
It may not happen tomorrow, it may not happen next week. But eventually, you may find yourself taking that first small step again.
And maybe that is what strength really looks like sometime, not pretending that everything is fine, but being honest enough to admit that you are struggling and patient enough to give yourself time to recover.
So if life has knocked you down recently, don't be too hard on yourself. Rest if you need to, take your time and get up when you are ready.
Thank for checking on my post and have a wonderful day
