2030, how dystopian can it be? In movie Jackpot! the government runs a lottery but with a twist. This is like the Purge but with more Asian characters. You'll have some good laughs throughout the film.
I have to say, the opening music was the thing that captures my attention the most. It helps with retaining your attention until the real story and plot unfolds.
Then, we get introduced to Katie (Awkwafina) who wins the lottery and teams up with Cassidy (John Cena) for the protection. From there, you can see action and plenty comedic line except some parts can be a bit dry. This film runs about an hour and half, just the perfect time to wind down or be consumed during your lunch break.
I am one of those people who barely eats without something in the background and as I was shuffling through my prime, this one was the winner. It's not too serious, doesn't require me to think and just a pure mindless film to watch.
The characters aren't so deep and it serves its purpose, just a comedy film that's enjoyable/entertaining enough. If you have about an hour break, this can be one the film that you can watch and enjoy.
