Wouldn't that be nice? Yes, but of course we haven't exactly moved. And even if we had, it certainly wouldn't be to such fancy surroundings. Although, to be honest, it wouldn't look too bad on us.
We took today’s photos during a visit to Potsdam, the capital of Brandenburg, after taking a tour of the old Prussian palace, the “Neues Palais.” The exterior is currently being renovated, but the interior doesn’t need any work—you could practically move in right away.
There’s even some furniture there already, and the table for the first dinner is already set. So at first, it shouldn’t be too hard to make ourselves comfortable. And then we can take our time deciding whether to add a few more things to the place—there’s plenty of room, after all. We just have to make sure the style fits, because we don’t want future visitors to make fun of us.
But maybe it’s better to leave a little more space and let the rooms work their magic on you - just as they are. Where we live now is significantly more cramped, which quickly makes us long for a little more spaciousness.
Well, I guess it is okay to dream a little. Since we won't be moving that soon after all...

Hach ja, schön wär's, aber natürlich sind wir nicht gerade umgezogen. Und wenn wir es wären, dann natürlich nicht in solch schicke Räumlichkeiten. Auch wenn das uns doch eigentlich gar nicht so schlecht stehen würde.
Die heutigen Bilder haben wir bei einem Besuch in der brandenburgischen Landeshauptstadt Potsdam gemacht, als wir eine Runde durch das alte preußische Schloss "Neues Palais" gedreht hatten. Von außen wird es gerade renoviert, aber drinnen ist das gar nicht nötig, eigentlich könnte man sofort einziehen.
Ein paar Möbel sind sogar schon dort und der Tisch für das erste Abendessen ist ja auch schon gedeckt. Erstmal sollte es also gar nicht so schwer fallen, es sich gemütlich zu machen. Und anschließend kann man sich dann ganz in Ruhe überlegen, ob man sich noch ein paar weitere Sachen in die Bude stellt - Platz ist ja genug vorhanden. Man muss nur aufpassen, dass man stilistisch auch richtig liegt, mal will ja nicht, dass die zukünftigen Besucher über einen lachen.
Aber vielleicht lässt man auch besser ein wenig mehr Platz, und die Räumlichkeiten so wie sich bereits sind, auf einen wirken. Dort wo wir jetzt wohnen, ist es nämlich bedeutend enger, wo schnell den Wunsch weckt nach ein wenig mehr Weite.
Na gut, man wird ja noch ein wenig träumen dürfen. So schnell werden wir dann wohl doch nicht umziehen...
