The Numerous challenges we encounter while growing different crops for the foods we eat.

Farming can be both easy and difficult depending on so many factors, some of these factors ranges from the farming tools available, types of seeds available for planting, quality of soil and most importantly the weather condition.

In other parts of the world where their government has picked interest in agriculture, there is provision for farming tools that makes work easier. Most developed countries now practice mechanized farming with quality seeds hence there enough food in the market and at a subsizized rate.

More so there is provision for irrigation systems to complement the rainfall. This makes farming profitable and possible all year round. For this part of the world we have to fight with all these elements to achieve what we want. If you don't have the money and resources, you keep struggling through all the various stages of growing your foods.

For instance, we have it now that the rains have ceased and our rice grains are yet to produce their foods, the probability of losing so much due to this now lies in our faces. This can be easily solved if there is a source of water close to the farm here and some generator to pump water into the farm. This will save this farm here.

Before today the rice hasn't even produce the haul you see all over. I have kept hoping and visiting to see if there will be changes. Producing the husk doesn't even mean that there are grains within it yet. It will take some two more weeks for these to start producing any grains.

Every year we get totally confused about when to plant these grains so that they can produce well in record time.

If I had planted in the month of June, the weather around that timing will have destroyed the grains as we had a break in rainfall from the ending of the months of July into the early days in the month of August.

That in-between short drought often affects plants growth yearly. The weather hasn't been very much predictable recently hence it disrupt alot of our farming activities. We do a lot of guesses and rely on hope that whatever we plant will produce well.

We do all of our farming with local tools, rely on seeds available and whatever the weather brings. This is how we have been surviving through some gains and losses yearly.

These parts of my rice plants are just producing their husk now and I'm hoping that they will at least bear some rice grains within before the weather and ground gets too hot.
