Vulnerability and Lack of Analysis vs. Artificial Intelligence.

Hello friends at Holos & Lotus, I hope you are all doing very well. With the rise of artificial intelligence and the way many people are using it, debates have emerged regarding how good or bad its use really is. Our friend @emiliorios shares his perspective on this topic, and I wanted to share my own thoughts—from my personal opinion and from what I believe might be helpful for some people or simply for those interested in this particular subject.

Artificial intelligence has been helping with many things for a few years now; essentially, it summarizes and helps answer questions about life in general or aids in learning topics of human interest in just a few minutes. However, there is a very thin line between using it for educational purposes or growing in terms of new knowledge, and using it in another way: to replace connections with real people or to try to solve personal problems.

While it is true that the internet helps us understand many things, provides us with new knowledge, and makes our lives a bit easier, one question I always ask myself is whether it is truly necessary to use artificial intelligence for everything. For example, using it to complete tasks and assignments for you, or relying on it as if it were a real person to share parts of your life or your problems—especially when you are extremely vulnerable and cannot find, or prefer not to see, a specialist, which would actually be ideal.

And here, I focus on human vulnerability. We believe we are in control of how we use artificial intelligence, but there are people who should not be using it, such as young children or individuals going through grief or emotional suffering. There are cases of people who have used AI as if it were a close friend and ended up in much worse conditions than they were before. I think we all believe we have the power not to fall for anything AI might tell us, but there are more vulnerable individuals who can end up very badly.

Even though artificial intelligence has many positive aspects—such as solving problems in seconds, providing fast responses, and helping us simplify certain topics to learn them faster—I think everything depends on how we use it. We cannot replace a real teacher with a machine or application that can give us an answer that might even be wrong; because that is another issue with AI: not everything it tells us is actually the truth. That is precisely when we must know how to analyze and use our own judgment, researching beyond what it might tell us.

I believe AI prevents us from going through the natural human process of thinking, analyzing, and drawing conclusions. And that is something that affects us greatly, because a person who relies on everything an application tells them will simply never have valid arguments, as they never took the time to research the way it was done before to know if what they are reading is accurate. We must be cautious and take care of our lives: rely on AI a bit, but at the same time, ask ourselves questions, because human beings truly have what it takes to reflect and hold a perspective beyond what a machine or application can say.
