AI in day to day life

A technology that once upon a time I thought was only limited to corporate world. Today I see it creeping in every individual's life, even those who are not connected to the corporate world. Sometimes I feel that it's not the AI that is going to take away our jobs but it is the person who is using the AI going to take away the job from those who are still not using it. And how is that going to be?

In my own office I am seeing this, people who once upon a time fumbled in writing one email clearly without mistakes, are today writing, flawless emails without any mistakes. I started exploring AI just 2 to 3 months back, and I majorly use it to design my Airbnb promotions. I had no clue that this person was using AI to draft his emails. I was wondering how come this person's communication has improved so much. I guessed he might be taking some lessons for better communication and that's how he has improved. But then gradually I realized he is using AI.

It is good, because now we all receive clear emails, at the same time very lengthy emails also, because he suddenly wants to express everything in detail with the new tool's help. But the same person when he does one on one verbal communication he lacks in conveying his message because AI is not going to help him in his verbal communication. In this case, I feel that he is actually not improving and the little brain that he was using in drafting the emails, that has also stopped, because now he just feeds in whatever information he wants in whatever language and he is getting ready output. Whereas previously he was putting his mind and checking on mistakes and trying to improve.

But this is what it is going to be in future, we will stop using our mind and only give feeds for the output we receive. Life will become simple and I believe at the same time boring. When everything is readily available, there is no fun in achievement. In the corporate world for those who will use it well will come to light for their smartness against those who are not using it.

Think about 30 years back when MS office was new, there were people who were still doing it manually and then there were some people who were learning Excel, Power point and these tools and the accountant who knew how to use excel was getting a job easily then the one who did not know. Similarly, the person who will know how to use AI well will always get priority in job than the one who does not know to use. AI will be able to do possibly 50 to 70% job but there will still be some places where human intervention is required, and that will be the skill, of giving the right inputs to AI.

So, the big question is will AI replace me, or will someone who knows AI will replace me?

Thank you for visiting my blog. 👼🏻👼🏻💖💖🌹🌺🌸

From what I can see, AI has made things so convenient that we no longer have to stretch our patience as much as before. We don't have to work as hard to find the information we need.

Sometimes, I wonder who is luckier: the younger generation today, who have access to AI, or those of us who studied before AI became popular. Back then, whenever we had assignments or projects, we had to go to the library, flip through the pages of books, and spend time searching for the answers we needed. We had to be patient and persistent until we found the right information. It wasn't always easy, but the process taught us how to be resourceful and how to appreciate the effort it took to learn something new.

Now, with just one click, almost any information we need is readily available. It's amazing how technology has made our lives easier and saved us so much time. However, I also wonder if this convenience is slowly affecting our critical thinking and creativity. When we become too dependent on AI, we might lose the habit of exploring, analyzing, and finding answers on our own.

For me, AI is a wonderful tool, but we should know how to use it wisely. It should help us learn and develop our abilities, not do all the thinking for us. After all, the process of searching, making mistakes, and finding solutions on our own is also an important part of learning. Sometimes, the effort we put into finding an answer teaches us just as much as the answer itself.
