At the beginning of 2026. I told myself I'll hold back from impulsive book shopping since I have more than 100 books I still haven't read yet! But when I come across a good deal, it's really hard to say no so I ended up with some cool second hand finds...

I got three thriller books from the same bookshop - second and third part of "The Housemaid" series by Freida McFadden and one book by Holly Jackson from her "A Good Girl's Guide to Murder" series. The rest of the books I got back in March at the book fair in my city that includes three books by Han Kang that I really wanted and some other titles that caught my attention. It was also a great opportunity to get some books from the publishers called "Ključ" which in Serbian means "Key" as I got to meet them at the same book fair last year and they are some of the kindest people so I really wanted to support them!

Books on the left I got from a website that people use to sell all kinds of stuff and there's a lot of books you can find there. Sometimes the prices are crazy, especially when it comes to popular books, books that are hard to find and sold out books. But sometimes you can find a really good deal and I was lucky to find two books I really wanted for affordable price. On the right I have two books my husband found at the flea market - he took a video of all the books and sent it to me to check out if there's anything interesting. I'm pretty sure most of you can recognize "The Hunger Games" cover! :)

"Inferno" I got from one person I follow on Instagram, she opened a new Instagram page to re-sell some of her books and I decided to get "Inferno" even though I already read this book long time ago from the library, I know at some point I will re-read it and it was in perfect condition for a really good price. Eckhart Tolle book I got from a new website in my country that is made purposefully for book exchanges. When you register you get one point that you can use to "buy" any book offered and you get one point each time someone orders a book from you.

I participated and won the giveaway where I got an Emily Henry book - I know she's a really popular author but I haven't read any of her books yet. Maybe this one would be a good choice to bring on vacation? Another book was a gift from the author himself and it was the first time an author contacted me on Instagram wanting to gift me a book for me to read and post my review on it! I was happy and excited for this opportunity and also super grateful!

As I am definitely not reading at the same pace I am collecting books, having them all together like this gives me a better perspective of my reading vs buying habits. I hope in the second half of 2026. I'll have less books to show you compared to the first half. We shall see... :) Let me know how many books you've added to your collection in the past six months and your book shopping plans.
