Saturday, October 3, was Dentist’s Day—the 8th time this wonderful profession has been celebrated. Although I took a break from practicing dentistry for years to focus on being a full-time mom, I’ve always been convinced that it’s one of the things I love doing most, and it’s a blessing that I’m now able to do everything I’m passionate about.
The day before this date, my hygienist Miriam prepared a special breakfast with pastries for my colleague Suhail and me. When she extended the invitation, I felt very loved and happy to know she would do something so kind for us.
Just when I thought it was just breakfast, there were more surprises in store for us from Miriam, as well as gifts for me from my coworker. I also prepared a small gift for Suhail—a beaded bracelet in his favorite color, purple.
When I opened my gifts, I was so happy—I hadn’t expected so much—but it turns out they also hadn’t given me my birthday gifts yet, since my birthday was in August and we hadn’t seen each other because we were on vacation.
Before giving me my gift, Miriam said a few words: “I thought long and hard about what to get you, but then I remembered that every time you come back from your trips, you tell me how much you love the flowers you see.” Her gift was a personalized mug with a little flower-shaped handle—perfect for drinking my favorite beverage, coffee—and some socks, including a pair for Christmas that I absolutely loved.
Dr. Suhail gave me a yellow notebook with a sunflower on it—she knows I love to write and that planners are part of my daily routine—as well as a watch and a bracelet in my favorite colors.
The next day, my girls gave me a little tooth, and my aunt gave me a pretty flower she made by hand out of pipe cleaners—she’s very creative.
I know they’re just gifts, but the people who gave them to me made me feel very special. I know that every time I see them or use them, I’ll remember them with great joy, and they brought a smile to my face.

El sábado 03 de octubre fue el Día del Odontológo, es el 8vo día que celebró de esta hermosa profesión y aunque estuve años fuera del ejercicio por dedicarme a la maternidad a tiempo completo, siempre he estado convencida de que es una de las cosas que más me gusta hacer y es una bendición que actualmente pude realizar todo lo que me apasiona.
Un día antes de esta fecha mi higienista Miriam nos preparó un desayuno especial con pastelitos a mi colega Suhail y a mi persona, cuando ella nos hizó la invitación me sentí muy querida y feliz de saber que tendría tan lindo gesto con nosotras.
Cuando pensaba que se trataba solamente del desayuno, habían más sorpresas para nosotras por parte de Miriam y también regalos para mi de mi colega, por mi parte también preparé un pequeño regalo para Suhail, una pulsera de muelita con su color favorito que es el morado.
Cuando abrí mis regalos estaba muy feliz no esperaba tanto, pero resulta que también tenían pendiente darme mis regalos de cumpleaños que fue durante el mes de agosto y no nos vimos porque estábamos en el periodo vacacional.
Miriam, antes de entregarme mi obsequio me dijo unas palabras: "Pensé mucho que podía regalarte, pero recordé que cada vez que vienes de tus viajes me hablas de lo mucho que te gustan las flores que ves" su regalo fue una taza personalizada con una muelita formada por flores ideal para tomar mi bebida favorita que es el café y unas medias incluyendo unas para Navidad que ame.
La doctora Suhail me obsequio una libreta amarilla con un girasol, ella sabe que me gusta escribir mucho y que las agendas son parte de mis planificaciones diarias, además de un reloj y una pulsera de mis colores favoritos.
Al otro día, mis niñas me regalaron una muelita y mi tía una linda flor que realizó a mano con limpia pipas, ella es muy creativa.
Se que son solo regalos, pero me hicieron sentir muy especial las personas que me los entregaron, se que cada vez que los vea o los utilice los recordaré con mucha alegría y me dibujaron una sonrisa en el rostro.
