Make a Filipino Banana Turon Snack with Just 3 Ingredients

20260829_102118.jpg

Foreign food sometimes has its own charm, and at first glance, it might seem similar to local snacks we often make. This makes us love it and become curious about the taste.

I found this recipe on social media some time ago. They explained it was a snack from the Philippines. I love banana snacks, and when I looked at the ingredients, it seemed very easy, using only three ingredients. So, if you're Filipino and find this recipe different from the original recipe, perhaps the Indonesian recipe maker deliberately tailored it to local tastes. Okay, this is an inspiration for a new snack that I think I should try again because it's that delicious.

At first glance, banana turon is similar to the Indonesian dish. It's just made with granulated sugar and spring roll pastry. However, this Filipino banana turon is different; it's made with red sugar, of course, with plenty of melted sugar, and is made with dumpling pastry. This dish is fried, but the melted brown sugar makes it incredibly delicious. If you love sweet treats, this is a must-try.

If you're curious about how to make this very simple dish, let's try it at home by following these step-by-step instructions.

Ingredients

16 wonton wrappers 4 bananas 100 grams palm sugar

Procedure

Cut the bananas into quarters, or adjust the size to fit the wonton wrappers. Then, dip them in the coated brown sugar until evenly coated.

Then, add them to the wrapped wonton wrappers and seal them with water until they adhere.

Do this until done, then fry in hot oil over medium heat. Stir briefly while frying, as the brown sugar will release and caramelize the surface of the wrappers.

Let cool, then sprinkle with sesame seeds before serving. It's very simple, but trust me, it's delicious. Serve warm or cold, the texture remains crisp. This is truly delicious, with the distinctive aroma of palm sugar. I really love the combination of all the ingredients.

Although it only has three ingredients, this recipe is incredibly delicious and makes a delicious treat to accompany your relaxing time. The crispy exterior and the delicious, soft, and distinctive banana filling are truly unique.
