And not only that, as flowers (blooms) are also the sustenance of life.
We saw that the yellow Protea Pincushions are also starting to bloom. Just goes to show how intelligent the sunbirds are, as they are now in the process of nesting and by the time that the babies are born the yellow pincushion flowers will all be opened up, which is extra food for the babies. The parents are already taking nectar from the red pincushions and in another few weeks' time all pincushion flowers, both red and yellow will be fully opened.
I will show the protea flowers first (3 shots) pincushion flowers, and also a King Protea. Then I will show you a giant Carpenter Bee and a Cabbage Butterfly (3 shots). Then a shot of a Strelitzia (Paradise flower), and finally some lovely colors of flowers (3 shots). So, this is a short summary of the post's contents.
A female Malachite Sunbird is already taking nectar from red pincushion flowers to feed her little ones.
And this is a Protea King flower. They are very popular and long lasting flowers.
Now for some insects on flowers.
First are two shots of a Giant Carpenter Bee.
And here, below, is the Cabbage Butterfly.
Just a line break with a Malachite Sunbird on a Strelitzia flower.
Don't ask me what they name these flowers below, as all that I know is that they have lovely colors and structures to look at.
Finally, it looked like this one had its hair disturbed by the wind, or maybe it was just designed like that.
There are thousands of poems about flowers and their colors, and also their happy emotional effect that they leave on one's mind. The strange thing is that I see so many people walking around, totally disregarding the flowers. I just cannot understand it, but then I feel a bit better when I see that there are other people also taking photos of the flowers with their phones. On occasion I even show some people the birds on the flowers and they are always thankful.
I have mentioned this before, and I wish that everyone will take a closer look at nature, as it is a part of all of us. Not for profit, but rather for appreciation and protection. We sadly have thousands of plants being stripped by poachers for the black market and it seems that anything that can earn anyone a few cents are disappearing. It is the same case with the wildlife, and some animals are now facing extinction. Even spiders and snakes are not safe, as they are being caught and sold. Such is life.
