PRACTICING STOP-MOTION ANIMATION [ENG/ESP]

From a very young age, I developed a love for cartoons, animation, and digital animation; I find the possibilities of what can be created using drawing fascinating. Later, I discovered the wonderful technique of stop-motion animation, and that's when a life goal was born in me: to tell my life stories using stop-motion. When I began studying visual arts, I was given the opportunity to create a stop-motion project for one of my courses. Thanks to making this Video, I was able to delve into the study and understand how a stop-motion animated short film is produced.
Desde muy pequeño nació en mi un amor por los dibujos animados, las caricaturas, la animación digital; se me hace algo fascinante, las posibilidades de lo que se puede crear usando dibujo, luego conocí la maravillosa técnica de animación en Stop-motion, ahí nació en mi un objetivo de vida, contar mis historias de vida con la técnica del stop-motion. cuando comencé a estudiar artes plásticas se me dio la oportunidad para alguna unidad curricular crear un proyecto en stop-motion; Gracias a realizar este Video pude adentrarme en el estudio de comprender como es la producción de un corto en animación stop-motion.
A while ago a friend gave me a spectacular gift. One day she arrived at the university with a "toy". At first I didn't understand it, but then in my playful connection with the object I understood that it had a humanoid shape, it was like a robot, but it could adopt the poses that the imagination gave rise to.
Hace un tiempo una amiga me hizo un regalo espectacular, un día llego a la universidad con un "juguete", al principio no lo comprendía, pero luego en mi conexión lúdica con el objeto entendí que tenía una forma humanoide, era como un robot, pero podía adoptar las poses que la imaginación diera lugar.
On my way home, the idea popped into my head that the object could be turned into a cube. It wasn't until I got home that I managed to assemble and disassemble it to my heart's content. Then, after some thorough research using a photograph of the object and the Google Lens app, I discovered that the toy is called "PUZZLE MAN."
Cuando iba de regreso a mi casa, en mi cabeza entro la idea de que el objeto se podía volver un cubo, solo hasta que llegue a casa fue que logre armar el cubo y desarmarlo a gusto. Luego haciendo una rigurosa investigación con una fotografía del objeto y usando la app de google lens, encontré que el juguete se llama "PUZZLE MAN" (Hombre rompecabezas).
What's interesting is that the toy's presentation video is a kind of stop-motion animated battle between two Puzzlemen, I loved that; so I decided to do some stop-motion practice here at home with this object.
Algo curioso es que el video de presentación del juguete es una especie de batalla en animación stop-motion entre dos puzzleman, eso me encanto; así que decidí hacer unas prácticas de stop-motion aquí en casa con este objeto.
Puzzleman is a product whose target audience I can't definitively say, but it's a toy designed to stimulate motor skills, and when handled creatively, it can be used in very interesting ways. I think it's perfect for use as a puppet in stop-motion animation.
Puzzleman es un producto que no podría asegurar a que publico está dirigido, pero es un juguete diseñado para estimular la motricidad, y cuando se manipula bajo una mirada creativa puede ser utilizado de maneras muy interesantes. Considero que es perfecto para usarlo como títere en set de animación stop-motion.
I took advantage of having to create an animation for another course, "Digital Drawing," at the art university and used this exercise I had done, simply adding a set design; I loved the result. Soon I'll be working on another stop-motion animation project, something a bit more elaborate, with a good script, but I'll be using the stop-motion technique with paper cutouts. For now, it will be a 2D animation with a bit of depth. I hope you enjoyed the experience; good vibes!
Aproveche que tenía que realizar una animación para otra unidad curricular "Dibujo Digital" en la universidad de artes y utilice este ejercicio que hice, solo le agregue una escenografía; me encanto el resultado. Pronto estaré realizando otro proyecto en animación stop-motion, pero algo un poco más elaborado, con un buen guion, pero usare la técnica de stop-motion con recortes de papel, por ahora será un 2d con un poco de relieve; espero les haya gustado la experiencia, buenas vibras.
