🇵🇱 Cięższy PUSH, inny rodzaj progresu 💪 / 🇬🇧 Heavier PUSH, a Different Kind of Progress 💪: October 19 2026

🇬🇧 Heavy PUSH – this time the focus was on load

Sunday’s PUSH workout had a slightly different character than the previous one on October 14. That session was more volume-oriented, while this time I deliberately moved more toward heavier loads. The workout finished at 5,606 kg, 234 reps and 22 sets. For comparison, October 14 was 5,918 kg / 248 reps / 22 sets, so the total volume was 312 kg lower this time. I do not see that as a step backwards, though. It was simply a different stimulus — fewer reps in the heavier sets, but more exposure to higher loads.

🇬🇧 First time at 57 kg on the chest press

The most satisfying progress came on the chest press machine. Previously it was 36 / 50 / 50 kg ×10, while this time I did 36 kg ×10, 50 kg ×10 and 57 kg ×6. It was my first time going above 50 kg, and that is exactly the direction I wanted — not forcing ten reps at all costs, but gradually getting used to heavier loads. The assisted dips were heavier as well: previously 59 kg ×8×3, now 59 / 63 / 63 kg ×8. I also reached 41 kg on the triceps exercise, so the whole session clearly leaned more toward strength than pure volume.

🇬🇧 Progress does not always have to look the same

I am starting to like this setup more and more — one session focused more on volume, another on heavier loads. It means I am not constantly repeating the same rep range and the same kind of progression. October 14 was more volume-oriented, while October 19 was more load-oriented — both can still count as progress, just measured differently. Right now, the main goal is to increase the weight without losing technique and without grinding every set to failure. Leaving one or two reps in reserve and building from there feels like the better approach.

hitting fifty seven on the chest press is a solid milestone. keeping a couple reps in reserve sounds smart for the joints too since it lets you build strength without burning out completely.
