Feliz de estar nuevamente compartiendo con todos ustedes 💕 en esta ocasión estuve practicando como hacer rosas eternas con cinta de razo, hace unos meses atrás aprendí un técnica que llevaba 14 pétalos si mal no recuerdo, pero no compartí ese proceso por acá, ahora estuve practicando una nueva técnica con menos pétalos y está vez quise compartir mi proceso de aprendizaje. 🥰

Happy to be sharing with all of you again 💕 On this occasion, I was practicing how to make eternal roses using satin ribbon. A few months ago I learned a technique that took 14 petals, if I remember correctly, but I didn't share that process here. Now I've been practicing a new technique with fewer petals, and this time I wanted to share my learning process. 🥰

Mis prácticas de manualidades son muy diferentes a mis prácticas de dibujo, cuando práctico dibujo estoy relajada y no me importa mucho equivocarme, pues sé que simplemente puedo borrar y ya, pero con las manualidades es diferente ya que cada práctica o aprendizaje nuevo implica una pérdida de material si me sale mal, y aunque sé que así me equivoqué y dañe material debería considerarlo una inversión en mi aprendizaje, pues la verdad es que con la economía que hay en mi país perder material aprendiendo duele. 🤭

My crafting practice is very different from my drawing practice. When I practice drawing, I am relaxed and don't care much about making mistakes, since I know I can simply erase and move on. But with crafts, it's different because every practice session or new technique implies a loss of material if it goes wrong. Even though I know that making mistakes and ruining material should be considered an investment in my learning, the truth is that with the economic situation in my country, losing material while learning really hurts. 🤭

Pero gracias a Dios casi siempre logró no desperdiciar material, pero la verdad me concentro mucho y hago las cosas con mucho cuidado para no equivocarme, claro no me sale perfecto a la primera, como es el caso de esta flor, que estoy segura puedo mejorar, pero quedó conforme con el resultado,ahora los invito a ver la lista de materiales y el paso a paso de esta práctica. 😘

But thank God I almost always manage not to waste material, though the truth is I concentrate a lot and do things very carefully to avoid making mistakes. Of course, it doesn't come out perfect on the first try, as is the case with this flower—which I'm sure I can improve on—but I'm happy with the result. Now, I invite you all to see the list of materials and the step-by-step process of this practice. 😘

• Cinta de razo amarilla.
• Tijeras ✂️
• Silicón en barra.
• Pistola de silicón.
• Palillo de altura.
• Tarjeta(para medir la cinta.)
• Encendedor.

• Yellow satin ribbon.
• Scissors ✂️
• Glue stick / Hot glue stick.
• Hot glue gun.
• Wooden skewer / Wooden craft stick.
• Card (to measure the ribbon).
• Lighter.

El primer paso fue medir la cinta, para está rosa se necesitan muy poquitos pétalos, solo 8, así que saque mis 8 piezas de cinta, usando el truco de la tarjeta 💳 este truco me pareció maravilloso, porque yo me imaginaba midiendo con una regla cada pieza y pues con la tarjeta es más fácil ya que mide 8.5cm de largo que es justo la medida que necesitamos. Por cierto el ancho de la cinta es de 4cm.

The first step was to measure the ribbon. For this rose, very few petals are needed—only 8—so I took out my 8 pieces of ribbon using the card trick 💳. I found this trick wonderful because I imagined measuring each piece with a ruler, and with the card it's much easier since it measures 8.5 cm long, which is just the measurement we need. By the way, the width of the ribbon is 4 cm.

Y es muy sencillo solo, enrollamos la cinta al rededor de la tarjeta, si mal no recuerdo para sacar 8 pétalos le dí 4 vueltas. Luego saque la cinta de la tarjeta y la corte con las tijeras y listo ya tenía mis 8 piezas. Siento que tengo que hacer un tutorial mejor explicado en la próxima. 🤭

And it's very simple—we just wrap the ribbon around the card. If I remember correctly, to get 8 petals I wrapped it 4 times. Then I took the ribbon off the card, cut it with the scissors, and that was it—I had my 8 pieces. I feel like I need to make a better-explained tutorial next time. 🤭

Un paso muy importante al que olvide sacarle fotos, es sellar las piezas con calor, yo lo hice muy rápido con un encendedor pero creo que es mejor, o por lo menos para mí, hacerlo con una vela, esto evitará que queden hilos sueltos que puedan hacer que la flor se desarme.

A very important step that I forgot to take photos of is sealing the pieces with heat. I did it very quickly with a lighter, but I think it's better—or at least for me—to do it with a candle. This will prevent loose threads that could cause the flower to fall apart.

Luego de sellarlas comencé el primer paso para armar los pétalos, para eso hay que hacer unos cuantos dobleces a cada lado de la cinta. El primer doblez como pueden ver solo llevan la esquina superior de la cinta hacia abajo, dejando ese espacio como de 1cm aproximadamente y lo pegamos con silicón caliente, y luego en ese mismo lado hacemos otro doblez hacia adentro y pegamos nuevamente con silicón caliente, hacemos lo mismo del otro lado.

After sealing them, I started the first step to assemble the petals. To do that, you have to make a few folds on each side of the ribbon. For the first fold, as you can see, you just bring the top corner of the ribbon down, leaving a space of about 1 cm, and glue it with hot glue. Then, on that same side, make another fold inward and glue it again with hot glue. We do the same thing on the other side.

Luego le damos la vuelta a la pieza, que quede por el lado liso, por el lado que no tiene dobleces, y lo vamos a doblar por la mitad, haciendo un poco de presión para que nos quede esa marquita en el medio y justo en esa marquita pondremos un gotita mínima de silicón caliente y lo doblaremos otra vez, hacemos presión por unos segundos, desdoblamos y listo, así tienen que quedar las 8 piezas.

Then we flip the piece over so that the smooth side—the side without folds—is facing up, and we fold it in half, applying a little pressure so that we get that small crease in the middle. Right on that mark, we put a tiny drop of hot glue and fold it again. We press for a few seconds, unfold it, and that's it—that is how all 8 pieces should look.

Luego comencé a pegar cada pétalo al palillo de altura, prometo que en la próxima ocasión explicaré mucho mejor este paso a paso. Comencé a pegar el primer pétalo con silicón caliente, enrollandolo en el palillo de altura. Y así arme el capullo de la rosa.

Then I started gluing each petal to the wooden skewer—I promise that next time I'll explain this step-by-step process much better. I started by gluing the first petal with hot glue, wrapping it around the wooden skewer. And that's how I assembled the rosebud.

Luego coloque las otras tres piezas siempre justo en frente de dónde termina la pieza anterior, para que cada pétalo quede ordenado. Creo que se nota que está es una practica, la verdad no tomé las fotos necesarias para el paso a paso y siento que no puedo mostrarles el procedimiento realmente. 🤭

Then I placed the other three pieces, always right in front of where the previous piece ended, so that each petal would stay neat. I think it's noticeable that this is just practice—honestly, I didn't take the necessary photos for the step-by-step process, and I feel like I can't really show you the procedure properly. 🤭

Hasta los momentos van cuatro pétalos, pegados de forma individual, los últimos 4 los pegue de forma diferente, pues hice una especie de corona con los 4 pétalos pegando los entre sí y luego coloque esa pieza al rededor de los 4 primeros pétalos que pegue, formando así una rosa bastante linda.

So far, that's four petals glued individually. The last four I glued differently: I made a sort of crown with the four petals by gluing them to each other, and then I placed that piece around the first four petals I had glued, thus forming a really pretty rose.

Y este fue el resultado, la verdad quede muy satisfecha con esta técnica ya que con la técnica que aprendí primero no quede muy satisfecha ya que sentía que siempre le faltaba un pétalo a la rosa y pues con esta técnica eso no pasa, siento que quedó muy bonita además, claro al ser una rosa de 8 pétalos es pequeña pero es ideal para presupuestos ajustados como el mío, mientras más pétalos más cinta y pues siento que está pequeña flor queda igual de hermosa que una grande. 🥰

And this was the result! Honestly, I was very satisfied with this technique because with the first one I learned, I wasn't really happy—I always felt like the rose was missing a petal. But with this technique, that doesn't happen. I feel it turned out really pretty; of course, being an 8-petal rose, it is small, but it's ideal for tight budgets like mine. The more petals, the more ribbon, and I feel this little flower turns out just as beautiful as a big one. 🥰
