Vaelira Silverwake Will Rain Down A Volley of Arrows

Vaelira Silverwake is a 7-mana legendary unit with both Water and Life attributes, so it can be used in battle so long as at least one of those elements is active. It has the Elf Bloodline, so it can also be used for the Archon Kaylia Silverleaf, and automatically gets the Execute ability through Bloodline Dominion that will allow it to do another attack if the target has 2 or less health.

As for its abilities, Vaelira Silverwake is a range unit that can attack even if it is in the first position because it has the Close Range ability, and will never miss its attack since it has True Strike. It also has Piercing that would inflict extra damage from your attack to the target's health if it is more than its armor, and if your opponent would inflict more than 5 damage to any of your units, that card would gain the Taunt ability through Reprisal.

But the really exciting part of this card is the new ability that it will introduce in the game called "Volley of Arrows", which will give all allied range unit the Volleying ability.

What this Volleying ability does is allow all the range units to make one range attack that cannot miss when Vaelira Silverwake lands an attack. So, aside from their turn, all your range units can take another chance to attack. That said, in case of Ambush, Volley of Arrows does not account for range units to attack unless they also have Ambush.

Given this, Vaelira Silverwake could be an ideal card to use with the Archon Prophet Rosa that also gives additional range damage to allied units, to further increase the damage it can inflict, and maybe with Captain Frankie, who can also grant the Piercing and Ture Strike ability to other units.

With the ongoing general sale, each copy of Vaelira Silverwake will cost 1,050 Vouchers, with a 2% base chance to drop a gold foil and a 0.25% base chance to drop a black foil version of the card. You can have a guaranteed gold foil drop for every 50 cards that you purchase, but you can lower it to 25 copies if you use 2 Alchemy Potions on each card, which will also double the chance to get a gold foil version of the card. Meanwhile, you can also double the chance to get a black foil version of the card if you use 2 Midnight Potions on each card you buy.

As of the writing of this post, 1050 Vouchers are equivalent to 39,029.491 DEC, so if you want to get a max copy of this card, you will need 11,550 Vouchers for 11 BCX of the card, which will be equivalent to 426,154.987 DEC.

In this method, you cannot directly buy Vaelira Silverwake using Vouchers. Instead, players will need to join the Fortune draw event by entering Fortune tickets, which can be crafted by using 200 Aura, 10 Vouchers, and 200 DEC. It takes 35 Fortune tickets to enter the raffle draw, where there will be a total of 3 Gold Foil Arcane versions of Vaelira Silverwake that will be raffled within 3 days. And even if you do not win, your entry will still receive at least a regular foil version of the card based on the number of entries you entered.

Looking at the current price of crafting a fortune ticket, it is currently equivalent to 684.80 DEC, or 23,968 DEC for a single entry, which is a little cheaper than when you buy through the general sale, assuming that you have the land resources to craft the tickets.

If you want to chase those premium cards but do not think you have the luck to win the raffle, you can also brute-force it by entering the Black Foil auction, where there will be 1 Black Foil version of the card that will be auctioned. Here, what you need is to have enough Auction Marks to outbid other players. This token can be crafted by using 1000 Aura, 50 Vouchers, and 500 DEC for each Auction Mark.

As of the writing of this post, the price of crafting an Auction Mark is 2924.01 DEC, but to determine whether it will be cheaper to get this card through the auction or the general sale can only be known once we get to the auction.

And that was it for Vaelira Silverwake. Looking at its stats, any player would see how fun this card could be, but playing it in battle is much more fun. Full disclosure, I have fought against this card twice already, and even when I knew it was coming, I still was not able to do anything to win against it.

Before I forget, having to look at the art of the card, it feels very different from the card art not only of the previous promo cards, but also the rest of modern cards. I had a hunch that the character was made through A.I.
