Hello to everyone in this community and fellow sewing enthusiasts! Today, I'm here to show you a sewing project I was asked to make, and it turned out to be quite useful: a wall organizer. My grandmother had bought one, but it wasn't working for her. She said it was too small, and the hairbrushes and other items she put inside kept falling over because of the weight. So, she needed my help with an organizer that would actually work for her. After looking at several pictures and tutorials to get an idea of how to make it, I got to work.
I tagged it "recycling" because most of the time I use leftover fabric scraps from previous projects. In this case, it was scraps of bed sheet fabric, which seemed ideal for the organizer since it's a stiff and durable fabric. I also think you could use fabric from old jeans.
To make the organizer, you'll need to cut: two 60x38 cm pieces of fabric, which will be the base of the organizer; one 38x22 cm, one 38x19 cm, and finally, one 38x15 cm, to make the pockets.

|**✂️Pocket Pieces✂️**|The first thing I did was hem the top and bottom edges of the smaller pocket pieces. For the larger pocket, you only need to hem the top edge.

Next, I sewed the pockets to the front piece of the organizer. To make the dividers, I first marked the lines and then sewed a straight stitch. The size and number of dividers are up to you.

Once the pockets were sewn, I placed the back piece with the front piece and made a seam all around the edge, leaving an opening to turn the organizer right side out, and after doing so, I closed the opening.

To hang it, I used a clothes hanger. I placed it at the top of the organizer and, after hemming it, I sewed it to reinforce it. And that's it! ✨

As you can see, it's a super easy sewing project. You can vary the shapes of the bases, add another piece for hanging, and even use Velcro or hook-and-loop fasteners on each pocket (depending on its intended use). I'd like to make one for myself later, since I have so many materials I could use. What do you think? Are you tempted to make your own? ✂️

¡Hola a todos los integrantes de esta comunidad y amantes de la costura! En esta oportunidad, vengo a mostrarles un proyecto de costura que me mandaron a hacer y que me resultó bastante útil: Un organizador para pared. Mi abuela había comprado uno, pero no le servía, pues me mencionaba que era muy pequeño y los cepillos para el cabello y demás cosas que colocaba dentro del organizador, se terminaban cayendo debido al peso, así que necesitaba que la auxiliara con un organizador que realmente le funcionara. De esa forma, me puse manos a la obra para elaborar este organizador, luego de haber visto varias imágenes y tutoriales, para tener una idea de cómo fabricarlo.
Coloqué entre las etiquetas "reciclaje", porque la mayor parte del tiempo, ando usando trozos de tela que me sobraron de proyectos anteriores. En este caso, se trató de retazos de tela de sábana, la cual me parecía ideal para el organizador, ya que es una tela rígida y resistente. También, pienso que se pueden utilizar la tela de pantalones de mezclilla viejos.
Para realizar el organizador, se deben cortar: 2 piezas en tela de 60x38 cm, que serán la base del organizador; una de 38x22 cm, una de 38x19 cm y finalmente, una de 38x15 cm, para realizar los bolsillos.

|**✂️Piezas para los bolsillos✂️**|Lo primero que hice, fue realizar un dobladillo en los bordes superior e inferior de las piezas más pequeñas correspondientes a los bolsillos. En el caso del bolsillo más grande, sólo es necesario hacerle un dobladillo en la parte superior del mismo.

Luego, cosí los bolsillos a la pieza delantera del organizador. Para hacer las divisiones, marqué primero y después, realicé una costura recta. El tamaño y cantidad de las divisiones, es a nuestra preferencia.

Una vez cosido los bolsillos, coloqué la pieza trasera con la delantera y realicé una costura por todo el borde, dejando una abertura para voltear el organizador y tras hacerlo, cerré la abertura.

Para guindarlo, utilicé un gancho de ropa. Lo coloqué en la parte superior del organizador y tras realizar un dobladillo, lo cosí para reforzarlo. De esa forma, estuvo listo ✨

Como pudieron apreciar, es un proyecto de costura super fácil. Se puede variar en las formas de las bases, así como colocar otra pieza para guindar y hasta la opción de colocarle velcro o cierre mágico en cada bolsillo (dependiendo del uso que vaya a dársele). Me gustaría hacerme uno para mí después, ya que tengo demasiados materiales que podría tener a mano. ¿Qué opinan? ¿Se animan a hacer los suyos? ✂️
