Hello to everyone in this community and fellow creative writing enthusiasts! Today I was busy making some things I'd like to have ready for the next flea market I'm attending, but since I was feeling a bit mentally tired, I took some time to watch a movie. When it came time to get back to my blog, I thought it would be best to focus on my entry for the contest. The days are flying by, so the last thing I want is to forget to participate, haha.

I still remember the time a snail gave me one of the biggest scares I've ever had. At the time, I was living in a rural area, so it was quite common to find different animals in the yard. I was used to dealing with the most common ones, although I still had phobias of insects, mice, and of course, snakes.
As for snails, it wasn't common to see them, so I was very surprised when one morning, after a rainy season, a huge snail appeared right in front of the back door of the house.
My first reaction was surprise, and then, wonder. Since it was the first time I'd ever seen a snail in person, and such a big one at that, I thought it would be a good idea to take a picture with my analog camera, because at that time I didn't yet use a smartphone... it was a mistake.
I was so excited that, taking advantage of the animal's slowness, I got as close as possible to the snail so the camera could focus on its details. Thanks to the good lighting that morning, I was able to get a good photo. Unfortunately, instead of getting up first, I moved the camera away, leaving the snail very close to my view, allowing me to appreciate the porosity of its moist skin all too clearly.
I felt a kind of vertigo or terror, chills, revulsion, or disgust—I don't know, haha. It's the first time I've felt something so intense, and I imagine it must be the feeling experienced by those who suffer from trypophobia, because I felt dizzy from the shock, and all the poor snail had done was exist.
I've never experienced anything like that again, and it's not that I've developed a fear of snails since then, but I do avoid getting as close to them as I did that time, haha. In fact, where my boyfriend lives, you can sometimes see some, but they're very small, and I don't have any problem with those. I even find them cute.
I have read that snails can be considered a pest, but I think it's cruel to try to harm them, because after all, they are creatures that inhabit this world just like us, and therefore, they deserve respect 🐌✨
✨ Thank you so much for visiting my post. I hope you found it interesting ✨
💚 Until next time! 💚
