Lost in Communication

Lost in Communication

As the message arrives and the storms begin, brewing under the skies. They said they were only words that you heard, but a look was in their eyes. Jealousy and treachery barely beneath the skin, clothes of kings, beggars in disguise.

Winds pick up, shifting silently across the plains, whistling in warning through the trees. Invisible heralds for what is yet to be taken, from land and air and seas. Devouring all in hope to feed an endless hunger, That can never be appeased.

On deafened ears words have found their fate, falling dead before being spoken. To understand what truths and lies may appear, Belief must first be broken. Yet in fitful sleep they feel informed, Before they've been awoken.

Breaking old beliefs to see the truth is the hardest part for most people. Nobody wants to admit they've been fooled for years.

This beautifully said passage: To understand the truth, sometimes we need to question and break our previous beliefs. Communication is not just about hearing words; it is about being willing to listen, understand, and go beyond our own assumptions. A thought-provoking and meaningful poem

I can always count on you, for a good rhyme or two. See what I did there...

It's like a cosmic mirror that shows we're all wearing masks we never thought we'd need

We tend to hear what we want to hear rather than trying to understand what's really being said.

    The Altered Cadence

(A response to "Lost in Communication")

We are not stranded in the gloomy wasteland, nor adrift in the gale; though the old dialects may begin to fray and ancient courtesies may fade.

It is not a sudden death of speech that we bear, but new winds finding their sail.

The ears you feared were deaf to the storm are merely tuning in to this new hum; learning from the silence stretched across the wire, waiting for clarity to arrive.

Reading that last stanza of the poem, I wonder how many of us listen only to respond, how many of us approach communication with others with a preconceived bias, with a “weapon” in hand, and the other person’s words fall like coins into torn pockets. To communicate, we need interest and a willingness to listen; otherwise, even if we talk a lot and say a lot, it will be nothing but noise. Best regards

I don't know what to make of this.

Jealousy and treachery barely beneath the skin, clothes of kings, beggars in disguise.

To understand what truths and lies may appear, Belief must first be broken.

An analysis of rulers and the ruled?

Unbreakable belief can be used as shackles.
